    Denvoids: Need New Mexican Recco's

Okay, with the demise of Tacos De Colima the wife and I are bereft of a "good" sitdown (table service) Mexican place.

    Requirements:
South of 6th Ave, East of Wadsworth, West of Peoria, North of HR (The closer to Broadway/Belleview the better)
    Lard in the beans
Tacos, if you automatically think with hard corn shells please don't even bother responding
    Carnitas
Carne Adobada (if you're not sure, no worries I expect to have to verify that one myself)
    Not a chain

    Bonus Items:
    Ceviche
    A preponderance of latino patrons

    Don't bother mentioning:
    Benny's
    Blue Bonet
    Tephuan
    Rio
    etc...

I know Mr. G will say La Fogata and that's on the list already.

Taco De Mexico at 8th and Sante Fe
    La Cueva on Colfax

El Coyotito on Leetsdale near Alameda

Edit to add: I am big fan of La Fogata and their daughter is a beauty queen

I don't know locations, and I know you meant "new" mexican places, as opposed to "new mexican" places, but...

Jack and Grill is awesome new mexican food. I think it's on federal, but I have no idea where, really.

Ditto what Danno said about Jack 'n Grill. Great food. It's not South of 6th though - around 26th and Federal. The fresh peppers they sell by the bag out front are killer.

PSA, don't take a date to Jack and Grill, rack up a $50 tab on food and margs, and then find out later they don't take plastic WTF? And I thought their green chile was waaaay too watery anyway...

And I have a few good spots, but they are too busy anyway, so I am not sharing. Just kidding, I would share, but they are not on your side of town anyway so I don't apply for your prerequisites...

    Thumbs up

El Taco de Mexico - Burrito Al Pastor = soooooo damn good. This is not really a nice place though for a sit down dinner with the wife, basically it's a greasy spoon lunch counter. Also don't forget it's cash only.

LB, you are obsessed with food. It's unhealthy, dude. This coming from a total buffet-molester.

Well, these guys may not meet all your "location requirements," but they are close by (west Colfax, between where I-70 crosses over Colfax and where Colfax meets 6th ave) Senior Sol. Excellent food, Great serves, Great Margs, and Low prices....)

Thanks all, please keep em coming.

Forgot one, anyplace that has goat stew?

Raddam- Much as I like BB II & III, they don't meet any of my requirements other than geographical and lardical.

Dside- My obsession with food is for now, well under control. I can quit at any time....REALLY!
