Summer Compilation TR: From Moab to......

So with the hopes of shooting a lot of biking this summer, I decided instead of starting multiple threads each time I get some new shots, I would just use one thread throughout the summer and just keep adding to it. And what better way to kick off such a thread (and really, the biking season), than a trip to Moab for the usual killer riding with a great group of people.

Only shot on one day since the first we had to battle brutal winds all day and didn't feel like bringing the camera.

So, without further ado and a welcome to the 2006 biking season, let us commence.

The pimp ride up and the crew (plus yentna, not seen in the front seat) for the day:

    .

bagtagley, killin' it before the derailleur destruction, part deux:

    Mechanical Carnage:

    Fondigly, smoove and steady:

Don't go away. Many more to come.

Some of these are repeats of earlier views, but that's what happens when riding in a group of 8 to 9 and I try to get a shot of everyone. So be it.

Skimonkey, the silent assasin. Neve saying much but always slayin':

With Altagirl out, yentna was the lone female representative on the trail. She represented damn well, nailing the gully line at the end of the ride.

    Prepare for liftoff:

Did I mention the decent weather we had on Saturday? Some bluebird with a view.

    And she sends it!

Rotorhead began the day with some retribution in mind. Namely a couple sections on the singletrack that the day before had beat him down.

    Getting warmed up:

And nailing the line that produced a broken wrist (not his, but a buddy of fondig and bagtag) the day before, while the gapers gape:

    Then sending the slab:

    Amped for the line nailed:

Boris, just another day on the bike:

And the man that needs no introduction (and whom bikes parts quiver in fear), Mr. AG:

    Leading rotorhead through the singletrack:

And a thanks to Mr. AG for manning the camera a couple times to get some shots of me.

    In the notch:

Pause for dramatic effect/take in the view:

    And give 'er!

    A new line down low:

And you can't go to Moab without marveling at the scenery:

    From the fisheye:

    An ok sunset:

    Last light:

And finally the coolest damn girl I know and the freak she for some reason puts up with:

Good riding and camping in a great place with great company.

I'm looking forward to seeing what this thread produces this summer. Nice pics. I gotta hook with the UT posse in Moab one of these days.

(Place holder for a future picture of that entire line in the wash, not with me in it, but just a perspective shot, grin.) Such a rush to ride that - in the many trips I've taken there, until Saturday I'd walked it every time. WooHOO!

Nice job Yentna! That's sick. I had never seen that line before last week and was stoked to ride it for the first time as well. I'd always tried (and failed) the line further rider's left.

Killer photos as always CS. Now I'm contemplating another 24-hour Saturday trip to Moab this weekend for more UPS...

I will need someone to ride down there with next time in a couple of weeks, as all of my riding friends now have broken wrists and for Moab I only know the UT posse.

Great pics as always CS and thanks for the stoke. First trip riding in Moab and I can't believe I waited this long. Thanks to the Altagirls and Bagtag for dragging me along, I can't wait to go again. And thanks Rotorhead for the crash pad in the Moab Hilton.
