This Girl Rocks my World (TR+pics)
Alpental, Whistler Blackomb Mar/Apr (Kidstoke)
Lot's of Mags have posted lately about recent / impending parenthood, so here's a little kid stoke of what to look forward to when they start sleeping through the night and stop crapping their pants.
This is Emma, now in season 4 on skis.
She turned 5 in March and deicided it was time to step it up a bit.
"Daddy, now that I'm 5 I want to ski chair 2 now"
Well ok, the line doesn't look too bad today...
Let's try something easy like Schluct.
It was not bluebird and Alpental is really flat.
Measuring progression is easy when you're young.
Let's see now- 80cm, 90cm, 100cm, 110cm.
Sorry sweetie, the 110's don't come in pink and purple.
Ripping Upper International
Time to practice the fundamentals. Make some good turns Emma.
MAKE SOME TURNS EMMA!!!
W/B April 1-4. 4 days of mostly flat light/fog.
And 100K+ vert. with the kids.
"Can we do the terrain park again? It's just that I really like jumps because it feels like flying."
Ok. But NO MORE TANTRUMS for not catching enough air. If you want more air get more speed!
Jeez, did I really just say that?
"I'm going to run away and go ski somewhere else without you!"
All right, but try to get a wider tuck stance next time.
The last day delivered the big storm. 2-3 inches new dust on crust.
And the sun came out for nearly an hour before truly insane whiteout fog rolled in.
Psst. Hey Emma, want to ski some powder?
"Did you say Pow-Deer, Powder or Pow-dah?"
"You can call me Powder Ems"
Hmm, think she liked it?
She's now hooked for life.
"Why can't winter be all year, it's just that I love to ski sooooo much?"
I know sweetie, so do I.Last edited by Mofro261; 12-01-2006 at 12:57 AM. Reason: update bad links

As a childless and single and not-gonna-change-anytime-soon guy, I just have to say:
That was awesome.

That last pic is priceless. You've got a little ripper there, man. I'd say the proof is in the pictures...

Frequently, I am tempted to post pics. of my kids skiing. Then, my paranoid side stops me.

I got my 6yo on The Cliff at Red this winter. It's her new favorite run.
