Get out of bed in Portillo and look out the window to see this every morning

Chutes in back of the hotel

Skiing across the frozen lake...heard it hasn't frozen over in the past 5 years

Great pictures. Looks like it was a great trip. Heli from Santiago to Portillo, holy shite, man.

FYI, the lake froze over in 2002.

Pilot was Mario and the guide was a Frenchman with an unsual name, Mann or something. I was so stoked I could barely remember my own name.

Great pics but the bald guy in the shades looks like a turtle who needs to be punched out.

Way to use those Pistols in the 6th picture from the bottom (compared to the tracks seen on the skier's left)

Reminds me of the long hauling done in the Girose Glacier in Grave last winter...hmmmmm goood

Thanks. I wanted to balance high speed straightlining with making the run last so I made big high speed turns. I was asked to ski last as clean up in case anybody else lost it. BTW, they are the Vicious and not the SP.

    Question

I'll be in South America for about 4-6 weeks next year, think I'll be in Las Lenas. How long does the season last there? Until mid-october? I can work at my seasonal waitstaff job until the start of September.
    That thread is frickin' awesome!!!!!!

Sweet, although last year was the best season on record for them. The year before was awful. Let's keep our fingers crossed for this year.

What you don't see in the picture, is that Jim is firmly cupping Shane's ass... hence the big shit-eating grin on Jim's face and the awkward smile on Shane
