    good boot fitter nyc

anyone have any recommendations for a good boot fitter in nyc? Looking for new boots, preferably with custom liners. Was originally thinking about Surefoot, but have heard a lot of mixed reviews.

Jeff Rich has been at it as long as anyone. Kooky dude, but really really knows his business.

If 25 minutes on the train is acceptable I would call Pedigree in White Plains and make an appointment with Sean. The shop is about a five minute walk from the train station and he's a really good bootfitter. Actually trained with Jeff ^^ but working with a wacko like that wasn't in the cards.

I did surefoot 3or 4? years ago and have been really happy. The price point was a bit ridiculous considering it was probably April or May but I can't really complain since the boots have been great. Believe the store has moved since I was last there, not sure where it is now.

How does the month have any bearing on the service they provide?

I ended up buying the boots there as well, which I thought were pretty expensive given the time of year. The cost of the service was the cost of the service, I had no issues with that and was happy with the product I recieved. Apologies for not making that more clear.

Thanks, actually have shopped here a bunch, will check it out.

Has anyone had any experience with Heino's in NJ? Heard some good things there.

I have had immediate recent experience with Jeff Rich in NYC. It's been disastrous. I'm 1000. into the boot process, the boots are unwearable --my feet are losing toenails after two times on the hill --and he refuses to adjust or talk, or do anything. I don't really get it, his reputation was, I thought, good...

I have heard good things about Heino.

Heino's is a great ski shop!! They have years and years of experience, Greg has been in the race scene for a long time.. Make sure you ask for Greg!!! I live 10 min from there!!

Heinos is the shop i was going to recommend. It's about 40 minutes outside of nyc, hut the owner Greg is a really nice guy and does great work. And for a really good price too. I've had some work done on several pairs of boots and have always been happy. Definitely worth looking into.

Which one is he? It's over on 82nd/3rd for whoever asked. I've always been warned away from Surefoot, for what seem to be good reasons.

WTF??? Seriously, what's that about? Who is this guy?

What's Heino's? Do they stonegrind? I need one done and wasn't crazy about Pedigree the past two times.
