    K2 Public Enemy Speed Limit?

How are the 2005 K2 Public Enemy's at speed? Stable, noodle, or in-between?

Did a search here, but and found no speed limit info. Found some limited info at Epic.

Besides the mad graphics, is there mad at speed?

Only took a few runs on it but, somewhere in between.

Its no GS ski, but one of the more stable jib skis out there.

I'm 150lbs-ish so, not the most weight going through it but.....

never skiied the PE but I have seen a bunch of them attached to non jibber type peoples feet. A bunch of crusty old patrollers at Whiteface ski on em, so they've gotta be at least SOMEWHAT respectable on hard snow. Only reason I've taken more notice of it is because the graphics really stand out when they're on the feet of some 35-45 year old as opposed to being on the feet of some 13 year old Tanner wannabe
For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was

Unless you are jibbing, why would you want the PE's? Other than the poser factor, I guarantee there are better east coast skis out there...

I don't know might fill a hole in my quiver.

    Current Quiver:
    • Volkl SuperSpeed (Carving Machine niche)
    • Bro Model Soft (Big mountain, crud, powder)
    • Pocket Rocket 175's (Bumped out soft conditions, crud, tight spaced mountains, park)

Looking to replace the Pocket Rocket with something of similar capability, but better at high speed.

Thinking Pistol too, even though I hate those graphics as much as the PE's. And I am a former Punk Rocker from my high school daze. Now, I am just an aging closet punker.

The PE has a nice medium-stiff flex and seems rather bomber in its construction. I liked it alot last year. So I would say it has a high speed limit for a skinny (80s) jib ski. Karma? ARV?

Edit: I wanted to replace the PE with something wider this year, and got the Mojo on ebay, and I hate it. But otthers praise it so YMMV.

They are pretty good at speed, definitely better than most jib skis. I dont mean to just repeat everyone else but I actually own a pair. And the reason you see so many on people who dont aspire to throw switch rodeos is because of the price, flex, and quality of the ski. Face it, twins are easy to ski because of their shape and flex characteristics, thats why renee zelwigger skis 1080s Outside of the park they are great skis, stiff enough to hold its own, great flex, solid edges, etc. I dont like them too much in the park however, a little heavy when you want to spin bigger.

im thinking of getting a similar type ski, but was looking more along the lines of the karma, i mostly ski big mountain and off piste, but when on the ec this year i think park capabilities might be nice...
would people say karmas are more sturdy, stable at speed than the pe?

    PE is a fun ski

I'm 6'1", 220. I have a pair of 179's and they're not bad. I use them mostly for bumps/groomers/pipe and they perform pretty well in all respects. Not as much fun on the groomed as a race ski, but hold an edge decently. I can overpower them if I try, but if I'm not really pushing it they're fine. If you're lighter then you probably wouldn't notice it.

I love my PEs i'm 6'1" 225 granted I've never skied anything else (except shitty rental skis and some 164 line 1260s) I really like them. quick and responsive very stable, kinda a mix between soft short center mounted twins and skinny stiff skis. On hardpack I love them, in powder I love em, in crud I love them. after I'd say 40 mph they get a bit wobbly during straitlining. The sick graphics and $350 price tag are always nice too. My one gripe is how hard it is to ski switch on them because the tails are kinda skinny and the bindings are mounted back a bit, or maybe I just suck at skiing switch (more likely)

^you want to mount them between +1 and +3 if you're gonna be riding switch with them. recommended mounting point is way too far back.

both my lines and my armadas are mounted +2 and switch riding is a LOT easier. but i can still carve switch pretty well with my PEs (i learned how to ride switch on them, after all) mounted at the recommended point. it just takes practice

No matter now. I found a ski to replace my PR's. Not an even replacement, but who cares. Got a bargain pair of last year's Atomic REX's brand new. Got the 184. So the complete opposite of my PR's, no twin tip, stiff, fast and stable. Yahooo.

    may as well

hey these are stiffer tha most twins, ski pretty well in choppy shit. if you are gonna ride some park and some other stuff i'd mount em +3. just park i know kids who go up to +7. I had a set last year, they snapped after 20 days on them, where the 2 different colored sidewalls meet. and the die-cut p-tex pieces will blow out. i wish they'd warrenty this kind of stuff

In my experience, skiing short park skis at crazy fast speeds is like Beavis and a pot of coffee. It's fun as hell, though. I have the orig. red Dynastar Concepts, though...

The PE's have a medium to stiff flex vs soft for say a 1080. They are not a GS ski and do have a speed limit, but they are probably the most stable of the twins out there.

20+ days on our PE's so far and they still ski like new, no delams or other funkiness. Gotta love a wood core ski

My 186 pollards are pretty stable, not quite as stable going forwards but God damn going backwards they are air craft boats
