When you are ready to hire a controller I'm your guy. Until then I will continue to use your site to build up your capital which will eventually create a need to hire a controller there. My plan is all coming together!

yeah but you'd spend the rest of your life trying to make it scale. RoR = programmers dream, sys admins nightmare.

touche Just keep throwing resources at it and it will scale

In all fairness to ROR a lot has changed in the last few years. Granted it may be some time before ruby is as good on memory as php, but the set up with passenger makes running rails pretty painless.

My first production server took me 3 weeks to get nginx to proxy to a cluster of mongrels. At the time there was very little documentation. It almost makes me sad how easy it is now.

srlsy. even just setting up a localdev is like night and day. my first php hello world localdev took a week. now with RoR you don't even have to get your hands dirty. i guess that's the blessing and the curse though.
