Alpine 2/13/09: Powder day for the b-day

Abertsch planned to join StormDay some sking with StormDay on his birthday. Caltrans had different plans.

Abertsch's view in Auburn:

StormDay takes a view of the slope

Abertsch in Colfax:

StormDay in the trees:

Abertsch finally made it

StormDay didn't seem to notice:

Ran into Freshies. He seems happy. It must have been the not shaving.

Quick Lap into Lower 40:

Abertsch:

StormDay has some fun in Promise Land

got let the inner 12 yr old out

Abertsch finds the whiteroom on the last run of the day. There is a 6'7" skier in there.

StormDay thinks that 40 is not so bad.

StormDay: "That is NOT gray!"

Thanks mother nature for an excellent bday present.

StormDay

That made me sick!

....Sick to my stomach that I went to work today. I almost called in sick, but instead chose to go ahead and deal with the teen angst of local 14 year olds.

Thanks for the awesome TR StormDay. What an amazing birthday... It would be nice to see some of those pics land at Unofficial Alpine.

Happy Birthday indeed... Way to get out and enjoy it.... Couple more years I'll be there too, but still on my snowboard... The skiing knees left a long time ago...

Good to see your screen name come through for you on your bday. The big 4-0 none the less! Looks like our tracks from yesterday filled in nicely. Who was your photog?

The good thing about being over the hill is you get to ski it.

Very Nice.

Happy Birthday Brian, glad it was an awesome one. Sad I haven't gotten one powder day in at my home mountain yet this year, but good to see you guys enjoying it.

I was StormDay's photog. He was mine. I brought the good camera out in honor of pow birthday. I will probably bring the good camera out more often now because it worked out well and was very fun.
