Knee destroyed, but Gaffney movies for SALE!!!

Well, as some of you saw in the Tahoe thread, my knee blew up just a couple of days ago and the recovery process starts tomorrow with surgery #1: repairing a torn patellar tendon, meniscus and some other little ligament I've never heard of as well as a couple other things (I lost track as the doc rattled them all off this afternoon). Then it's 6 weeks of immobilization, then 2-4 weeks of getting some mobility back, and THEN I go back to square one and get my ACL done.

I'm guessing some of you have been through this process before. I was definitely hoping for something a little quicker.

Anyway, three years ago I whined about being broke when I got my other ACL done and I posted about selling Walls of Freedom/1999 dvds on here to help me out. Well, it's three years later, I have two new sons, a modest house remodel that is now way over-budget and half-done (my 75 year-old dad is still sheetrocking downstairs while I ice and elevate), and now this injury is not only going to cost a ton even with insurance, but the next three months out in the mountains filming are critical income, and that's gone. Suffice it to say I'm in a far more precarious financial position than I was before.

So--Walls of Freedom/1999 dvds anyone? How about $20 this time around plus $3 shipping! Two dvds, two classic old school flicks, one of which was named "Movie of the Year" by Skiing mag and the other "Movie of the Year" by Freeskier. What a freakin bargain! For a good cause, too...

I'm still so old school that I have to go the check route, or I'll try to downgrade the price on Squallywoodthebook.com in the next couple of days.

For anyone interested in floating checks, feel free to send to:

Thanks for your support!!!!!!!!! Oh--and North Tahoe peeps--keep an eye out for a 1999 10-year Anniversary party. Now that I know I'm going to be in town the rest of the winter...

By the way, I'm not stoked, but I'm not moping. I don't tend to let myself get too bummed. I know there are plenty of people worse off than me out there. I was so fired up for this year though.

Ouch. That sucks ass! Patellar is a big tendon to snap. How did that sound? That gives me the shivers just thinking about it. I hope you get well quickly. At least you got one good line off mainline pocket

Damn huck, that blows. Heal up fast so you can ... get to surgery #2. Aargh.

Like Sr. Pickels, I picked up 1999/Walls on the first go around. Heck, just watched 1999 a few nights ago! If you were to have some copies of Squallywood for sale, I would definitely contribute to the cause on that one.

    Good luck.

Sorry to hear that Scott! Sounds like you've got the right approach to it though.

I'd be in for some Squallywood as well, since I also got the DVD's last time around.

    Hey,

Since you enriched your oldest with the Swarm as the beginning of his ski stoke career, I'll buy another copy to replace my lost copy, which replaced the VHS copies that are sitting next to some K2 GS Races in a Tahoe closet. Then, a father-son session will commence.

    wow. bummer.

does one of those films have the crazy Bridger Bowl segment with the grandmother throwing backflips and stuff? Or was that an acid flashback? Either way, I'm in.
We heard you in our twilight caves, one hundred fathom deep below, for notes of joy can pierce the waves, that drown each sound of war and woe.

Damn, man. Sorry to hear that. But you gotta at least get up to speed with Paypal, I have every good intention in the world but if I have to look for my checkbook...shiiiit. By the time I find it I won't remember why I was looking for it.

Heal up good and let Dad come up for air every once in a while. I'll go look for that checkbook now...

Yep. Bunny G rips up Bridger Bowl and a little BC in 1999.

If we do paypal through the squallywood site (the DVD+book combo, for instance), does that get the money to you?

Yeah man, if there was a paypal address the money would already be there. I'll be writing a check though.

You should use this as an opportunity to take over more of the editing, I've always liked the segments that had your touch the most.

I guess I would have to see if I could find use for another copy, on top of the 1 vhs copy of walls, 2 vhs copies of 1999, 1 copy of the dvd that lives in norway now and the one I have at home that you brought to the movie show a year and a half ago. Thanks for that one btw.

Good luck with the rehab and everything.
You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.
