    The alps are BURIED

We had like 5 feet last night in Val D'isere. None of the lifts opened today, the road was closed both ways from val D'isere. Mark Wilkinson, the manager of my shop here in Val woke up to an avalanche smashing through his back window into his bed. Most action his bed has seen in a while.

Wow That is not something you see everyday. Good thing it wasn't a little worse.

I don't know how many times it has to be said around here, but it doesn't matter what the conditions are, you should always have your beacon, shovel and probe on you!!! there are many packs that are low profile enough now that you can get your shovel and probe in and still barely notice them when you're trying to fall asleep.

I don't understand why people don't get it....

Half of the europe lacks snow and the rest gets drowned in it.

That is probably the most unbelievable picture I've ever seen. What the fuck do you do when all of a sudden your bed is covered in snow? Other than take pictures and laugh your ass off.

High pressures coming in for the end of the week. Things should settle down.
And the road will be open (it is already).
