estado de los pista en Bariloche July 3

okay, so Las Lenas, Valle Navado, Portillo even places as far south as Cerro Castor are all off to a good start. Bariloche on the other hand is dead in the water at the moment the entire mountain is closed except for students on their school holiday trips and basic lessons.
looking at the webcam this morning the mountain looked bare, i thought it must have been an old cam shot, so i went up to check it out and get my skis waxed up for this coming weekend.
what i saw was worse than i thought, it was 50 degrees in Bariloche today and maybe 40 35 at best at the base. the entire lower section of the mountain is completely bare, its still grass. i droped my skis off and took a few pictures.

the photos are more than depressing considering last year at this time Catedral had a good base and powder could be easily found.

?!?la nivie?!?

This is as good as it gets so far

How late in the season is it? Is that like a crappy Thanksgiving or a crappy New Years in NA?

The mountain did open for about 4 days, then it warmed up and rained to the top. Safe to say, mother n needs to bring it pronto, por favor.

Tyler, where are you? there is a gob of us at Tangoinn downtown on Salta. we were going to go hit Carbon today but the rain pretty much dashed our dreams. It is a sad f·n sight if you ask me. I spent 2 weeks around las leņas and hit marte on the golden 30+ day with Mercurio, Jupitor, and Marte. We will be at the flamenco show tonight and probably to Wilinicky. We are also going to be cooking some steak and dogs for ID4 today if you want to join us on Salta at Tangoinn.

When I hit BA last September, I called a bud in Bariloche to check weather and he said it was raining to the top.
That made grabbing a flight to Ushuaia a no-brainer

I feel it. it was frigid up when we were hiking the mountain today. I would be down for some snow :-) maggot fest? I will upload some shots of the negative acceleration up there after a big lunch. We still had a good time hiking and watching the high schoolers run around in their ugly suits and carrying skis my parents rode before I was born.

Cerro Catedral, please open with snow. Thanks!

They didnīt know what hit them. It was beautiful but sprinkling rain. I met some fun Columbians who just got to town. I will be at Wilkenny around 2am. I will wear a baby blue T with sunglasses on the front. Come dance, come cry, come drink!
