You might say you ain't got a hold on yourself
You might say you always try your best
You might say you only need a rest
You might say you can only fool yourself

Favourite composer:
Frederic Chopin for the beauty of his style.
Favourite band, and what IŽd listen to for the rest of my life if I had to:
Slayer!
If asked what was my favourite band six years ago, at 16, IŽd say Manowar. Times have changed.

I will go with Bela Fleck - not only is he talented and creative, but I love his passion for finding musicians from other cultures and weaving them into his mix.

Big revelation here, but the Radiohead crew: (Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Phil Selway, Ed O'brien, Colin Greenwood) and the 6th man award goes to producer Nigel Godrich.

Beatles, but more specifically, Lennon/McCartney. Hendrix a close second, but he didn't live long enough to refine his stuff.

Amazed that it appaears I'm only the second vote for Marley. His music will be played as long as there is such a thing as music.
Good, wait...... no actually it's a great thread.

Eat that question. For me, No Buddy remotely approaches FZ on the guitar, composing, humor, vision or eyebrows.
A Zappa concert is an unparalleled musical event. Hendrix was good, but I liked Zappa's playing better.

Doug Martsch.
I don't think I could like any single band more than the Beatles, but to stay true to the thread, I stick by Martsch...if I could only listen to one for the rest of my life.
Or, anything produced by Phil Eck (oops, I blew it)

Then you !have! to have some of the recordings with the band with whom he got his start: The Mothers Of Invention.

This one has some great stuff with LG on lead vocals:
Plus if you clowns haven't heard Imaginary Diseases, you're missing le bateau.

rjd2 probably for me, although he only produced 2 awesome albums. he totally broke the way i thought about music. electronica now dominates my music. it has such a range...basically its doing what rock n roll did to blues, but instead of just blues, it samples everything. rj doesn't represent that whole range, but he's the one who opened my eyes and has some of the most solid compositions.
