    TR: Dear Diary my season

This season was the best of my life. After 15 years of skiing, 3rd season getting over 30 days, my skiing progressed a lot. This is not a TR worthy of the TGR vaults, but im happy with my season.
Not as many pics as id like, my camera is a piece, plus I didn’t stop to take pics all that much.
My season started by hiking Stowe after our first snow with 2 good friends. We started at 5am leaving Burlington, got to the top just as the sun rose, a good start to the season. After a rocky run to the car, my friend and I made it to our 9am fluid dynamics class, still in our pants and reeking of death.
The UVM ski club did a trip to Mount Blow for their opening weekend. After driving at 135mph most of the way down it was a good first lift served day.
I got a bunch of days before winter break, including opening day at Jay with 18” of blower. I also got 2 of my top 5 EC days in a row at the bush. 12” followed by 18” skiing with my closest friends in college. Ill never forget those days.
After being in the gym every day for 2 weeks I went to Jackson for my annual trip in early Jan. I crashed at nipplehighpow, skijunkie05, and snowriders for the week. It was a kick ass week with some of the best snow ive ever skied. We did a lot of Jackson side country, including why not, Rock Springs, 4 pines, and my first line, broken branch coulier.
Allentaylor was out there for a while too, with the ski club and couch hopping
Here’s allen going big to flat

Here’s nipplehighpow after a little pillow line, I doubt he wants this pic up

Here’s one of me showing my patented backseat style at the top of rock springs

Here’s a shot of me Allen got after I dropped into a little chute that scared the shit out of me, hell of a rush

After getting back to the EC after a killer trip, it rained, as usual.
I got a bunch of typical EC days, some ice, some packed pow, some pow. Nothing out of the ordinary to report there.
In Feb. we got a good dump of 12+ at Mad River. I skied with some friends who have been skiing there all their lives. I got some sick tree skiing in that day. As it were, the birdcage cliffs were open for the first time in a long time. So we checked em out. I sent both left and right cliffs a few times, going bigger every time. This was by far the biggest ive gone on the EC
Soul Skier and phall had been hounding me to go skinning with them up the notch road for some BC chute skiing
    Skin track

I don’t have that pic on my uvm site
Hiking up a sweet chute that decided to do a mini slab on me as I was booting up

That was a good pre-class hike

One pow day at Jay I was skiing with a good friend, who happens to wear a one piece because its all she has. She makes it look good

Another pow day at Jay it was blowing hard at the top, so in typical Jay style, no lifts were turning. So we abandoned hope and hiked up the dip, a side country area below the lifts were you just hop in a car back to the lifts.
The snow was stupid deep and blown in, so what did we do? Hiked up for some short pow turns.
I found a big rock doing mach stupid in the trees
    Rest in peace my friends

In mid march I had my 21st b-day. The morning after, our crew went up to Stowe for a pow day. Even though I was still hammered when I got to the mountain, it was a killer day. Its amazing how skiing with friends makes things so much better, especially when puking off the lift.
After much more skiing with different sticks, I borrowed spinaltap’s Fat Bros for a day, im in love. Such a sick ski I bought a set of 183 stiffs, just waiting to get mounted up.

We has gaper day at stowe a few days late since we needed a weekend. I skied/drank with allentaylor, salida, samtheman, soul skier, phall and one more mag, who I can’t remember. God what a day
Ill get these pics when im not at work

Much more skiing later the season was over. I didn’t get to ski tucks this year, one of my major goals, I just didn’t have the time with a full engineering load.
It was such a nice day in May I decided to hike Steins run at the bush for my last turns of the season. I didn’t want to end my season with a concussion after my last attempt at a 3 in the park at Stowe
I hiked up for some t-shirt and shorts skiing, where I happened to run into vt-freeheeler. We took the run together, good time all in all

    Little patchy

    Vt-freeheeler

    Me looking stupid

All in all a kick ass season. While this season report pales in comparison to most of them here, im happy with my season.
Thanks to everyone I skied with this season: skijunkie05, snowrider, nipplehighpow, skiaholic, t-bar, soul_skier, phall, allentaylor, samtheman, salida, vt-freeheeler, and probably other mags I left out.

Only if you have some big ones cause these little ones are annoying as hell.
