Science Jobs in Steamboat

Let me start by saying that webmarshal did not allow me to enter the padded room...

I am the Production Manager at an Environmental Laboratory in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We are purely an analytical testing laboratory and mainly test water and soils samples from across the country (and world) for any number of analytes in our Inorganic, Organic, Wet Chemistry, Geochemistry, and Radiochemistry Laboratories. We are hiring for several entry level Lab Technician positions. We prefer a degree in a science field, but analytical thinking or mechanically inclined individuals may suffice.

We are typically very busy in the summer and slow down in the winter. We are as flexible with scheduling as possible. Long lunches for bike rides and flexible winter shifts are common. There is a 12” powder clause, but like I stated, if you want to ski every day we can probably accomodate you with a swing shift (starting at 12 or 2pm).

The ideal candidate would be a recent grad (or current ski bum wanting to do something with an aging degree). The individual would be looking for experience to build on, or be career minded as there is always lots of opportunity for promotion. (In the six years I have been here I have gone from an entry level position to upper management). The entry level position does not compensate too much more then normal ‘ski town’ wages to start, but can serve as an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience or work your way up the ladder while living in an amazing town and enjoying ample recreational opportunities.

If you have a strong work ethic and are driven to both work hard and play hard, PM me for more details.

Thanks,
Billy

I'm currently a science teacher, so not looking for year round work, but, since you say you are busier in the summer, would you guys ever higher summer staff (June and July primarily)? Wouldn't be able to do it this summer, but maybe next or so. Just curious at the moment.
