So I get a call from a bill collector for someone who's not me. I call back and get his voicemail. I leave a message with my phone number saying not to call me back again. I immediately receive a call back from him telling me to fuck myself, he'll call me whenever he wants. He says he's a bill collector, he gets paid to call people, so he's going to start calling me all the time. Who knows whether he'll actually do this or not, but either way this douche bag deserves to be fucked with. The number he originally called from is:

Please anyone with spare time call and fuck with this guy. Oh yeah, I tried doing a reverse lookup to find the company name and talk with his supervisor, but all the sites I found charge money. Anyone have a free site that actually works for this?

So here is the final analysis if you ever get involved with a debt collector from Shekinah: You may not legally owe the debt. They are likely collecting it illegally with no license or bond. They harass, lie and extort monies by phone. You may be dealing with a desperate con-man/woman with a drug and alcohol problem.

These are all rejects from other CA collection outfits. The WORST of the WORST was one description we received on Shekinah collectors. The good news is the police will not have to look far when they arrive to arrest this group of future California prison inmates. Nor will any of these collectors ever have to worry about passing a drug or sobriety test. Everything we receive on them seems to alert us to the fact that this place is a doper’s dream and place where happy hour is an all day affair. It appears that management not only condones the use of cocaine and alcohol, they toot up to keep morale high!
So now, we have a large group (40) of losers who are drunk and high who have to make money to keep them happy and guess what they do? They break the law! Not just a few laws… ALL the laws!

For example: There is a term used by debt collectors called "Gagging." It is the practice of calling up a debtors credit card company or bank and pretending to be that person in order to get location information, such as home and work phone numbers. This is a highly illegal practice in every state. There are some pros at Shekinah who use it to gain such information, then steal money from unwary consumers.

Another reason why you NEVER divulge banking or credit card information to these thieves.

These are DANGEROUS people because they are under incredible pressure, appear to have drug and drinking problems, cannot get hired anywhere else and owner Jim Trent needs money, lots and lots of money, so he not only condones, but teaches his ‘CONSULTANTS’ (that’s how he skirts CA employment laws) on how to make a living as an extortionist.

There is only one way out of this.

They will hound you even if you are not the person, it is just a scam to find push overs.
You have to document the calls and report to the FTC.

You are not required by law to take his calls. You do have to respond to postal letters.


There is a wealth of info online if you search. You should not have returned his call, don't do that again.

There is no amount of gentle reasoning that will make them stop. Only tell them if you pick up the phone that you have reported to FTC on x day, to reach you only by mail, and hang up. If they are legit they have to stop calling. If they are not legit, they don't want the FTC.

This is the answer. However, you must inform him that the number he is calling you on is your work phone. Tell him not to call you at that number again or else he will be in violation of the FDCPA.

Also, I'd suggest everyone reading this thread to read the FDCPA. It's fairly short and sweet, and it's good to know your rights. I turned really bad credit into really good credit a couple of years ago. I learned a lot here : http://www.creditinfocenter.com/

Also, ask him what the debt is, then tell him you dispute it and you request that he not call you anymore. Ask for a mailing address, then send him a quick letter saying simply "I dispute that I owe the debt you are trying to collect". At that point, if he is legit, he has to write a letter explaining the debt.
