    TR: Crested Butte and Surroundings

First things first. GoldenBoy is a MODEL. Pass it on.

On Saturday we took our sleds into the neighboring backcountry, and skinned our way to some of the nicest snow I have ever skied under perfect blue skies.

The Gatekeeper let us pass with a smile.

On the way up, it looked like it might be a pretty good day.

It was. GoldenBoy shows his vendetta against trees.

    Rippin.

    Huckin.

    And floatin.

MBSC said she was not feeling well. From the look of these pics, I don’t believe her one bit.

The elusive SydVicious occasionally breached from the snow to show herself for the camera.

    TeleHuckerGirl SydVicious

And I attempted to apply what I learned from a recent trip to Hawaii in a surfing lesson.

I had some fun on my machine on the way out.

On Sunday we opted for some inbounds schralpage. If you are ever looking for a gut check, go follow GoldenBoy around his home turf. He pretty much craves scary and never seems to never make a mistake. MBSC seems to think alike as well.

SydVicious and MBSC run a train through Sock-It-To-Me.

SydVicious rips some steep hardpack, exhibiting the all-important-in-CB jump turn.

And after following GB on a traverse track above the Edge, I was too scared to ski down it, so I skipped it:

Thanks GB and MBSC for showing Syd and I the goods once again.

Nice Nice Nice!! Wow- I didn't know a 1000 can make tight turns like that - oh and 2 in 4 CB patrol recommends not "skipping" the edge but if you chose to leave the earth for extended periods of time then it looks like you acheived your goal!!

    The epic winter continues.
I can't believe you are a rando racer because I look so much better in Lycra than you.

There are a lot of rippers on this board, but GB has got to be right at the top. Sweet pics.
