TR: My best attempts at showing some hospitality 12-15/16-07

12/15 Dside11-11, SydVicious, mtnbikerskierchick, goldenboy, non-mags Carrie Jo and Leon. Location: CB West.

12/16 Dside11-11, SydVicious, mtnbikerskierchick, goldenboy, non-mags Carrie Jo and Jay. Location: CB not-so-far West.

Well, I admit it. I like showing out-of-towners the goods, as best as I can. So, with Dside and SydVicious coming into town with his new sled in tow, we set off to find a taste of the many feet of snow that fell in the last two weeks. Here's what we found:

Wind: brisk Temps: single digits, at best Wind chill: frigid. Views: OK

Syd, Dside, and mbsc:

Carrie Jo, trying to stay warm:

mbsc, somehow finding some pow, turn after turn:

SydVicious gives it a try, despite her broken heelpieces:

Looks like the broken heelpieces work out OK afterall:

Dside. Unfortunately, I missed most of his run (and Leon's) trying to warm up my frozen hands. I did get this one:

Mbsc, dropping into the last part of our second lap:

On Sunday, we headed out to one of my favorite spots, Axtel. Unfortunately, the wind had stiffened up the snow on much of the run, and parts of the steep upper face slid during the big storm cycle, so overall, it wasn't as fluffy as the day before.

Castle:

Jay dropping in:

Token goldenboy shot, if you can find me:

Dside:

Well, there you have it. Hope you had a good enough time to warrant a return visit, Dside11-11 and Sydvicious. It's snowing again, so your tracks might be covered up by now. Hopefully that isn't a problem

Cheers to that, mang.

I am most jealous.

On a semi-related note, how are things shaping up inbounds down there, goldenboy and mbsc? Inquiring minds (a considerable fraction of LSU greeks and myself, that is ) want to know...

Silly Max, CB is still a bit away from the San Juans It's surrounded by the Elks, West Elks, and Ruby Range. So, the San Juan snowpack does not apply!

Not sure how the ski area is b/c I haven't been there in a long time. Looks like they've been opening more and more, like Teo bowl and Headwall. I'm sure GB could answer your question better later.
