    "October"-HDV Skiing/Climbing vid

The following is footage from October 8th to November 6th. A few early season October storms had us skiing some legit pow in October. But when the storms fizzled out, most went back to climbing and skiing in the perfect fall weather. The skiing remained, and is still fun on high, north facing aspects, but we're ready for more. So this is more about the month of October than it is about skiing.

    Video is 2:30.

Good work. That makes me feel lazier than ever. I bet I only got out 5 days in all of October, but hey, my kitchen looks good

How did you get that shot of the camelot placement? The heli shots are amazing, if they are turning out that good now I can't wait to see it dialed and polished. Nice, subtle spancer placement also.

Seriously--that was off the hook. Just watched in on my 23" Apple HD Cinema Display and it was damn near spiritual with those heli shots. Can't even imagine what some real action jackson's gonna look like this season. Really nice job there TH.

boner-ific. Always well done, man. The heli shot with the guy booting up the ridge and going over him was beautiful.

    Grizz,

If I can ever afford it, I need to hire a camera operator. That's all guessing there. Point the camera and hope for the best.

I could have flown right behind Ryan in Main Chute, but I stayed back, so I was assured he'd be in the frame. The tail rotor was about 5" off the snow while going down the couly.

The superstars are lined up. Just need some snow.

Great job TH, awesome to see how well you can shoot without a camera operator. Get that camera operator and it will be off the hook.

maybe this is a dumb JONG question, but are people (non-legends) going to be able to hire you to go out and film them?

    as always: beautifully done
I wish the big film makers would use a remote heli. That clip from lift off and going up vertically and following the chute around 2:18 is dead sexy

That turn on the Praxis makes me happy.... I remember when you were testing the heli this summer looks like it is totally dialed in, and I can't believe that you are merely guessing on where you are shooting. Maybe it's more like an educated guess.

    You are a Bodhisattva.

Any "big" film company that doesn't hire you for their next film is missing the boat. TGR, are you watching?

I don't get the "hire the camera operator" thing. What, has no one volunteered? I'll do double duty.

No kidding. If you wanna be filmed...you gotta help with the filming!

    TH,

    I declare GAME OVER!

I give up on making videos (or maybe I just need to accept mine will never be this hot). Its not enough that your camera/s and composition/editing skills aren't enough but now that you got the heli wired theres no chance of keeping up!

    You've got it mang!

That was so rad. The ridge shots...the opening color...climbing shots...heli couloir...

ps. anyone wanna buy an HD camera.

What kind of speeds is that heli capable of?
