Yeah, had every intention of heading up for it and then remembered that I have a 20th Anniversary event tonight here in SF that I really should at least make a quick appearance at.
Me'n Vets will be scoring October turns Sat/Sun/Mon most likely Eastside Sat/Sun and then Lola on Mon. Prolly be the last of the 2010/2011 season for me, too. Woot!

Maybe we can go for some kind of food and drink when you're in the area. Or maybe we can get Phil to cook again.
Sometimes you have to let your bad self ski...

I was up at Lake Shasta for some melted snow skiing, and happened to notice the north side of Lassen still has a nice long snow field. Somebody ought to go get that. Water skiing was fun, but it's not the same as subfreezing, really fresh, really deep water skiing.

Hopefully Vets is going to get his last day in for the old season tomorrow at Lola. Happy Birthday Vets (only a few hours early).

will the storm this week drop enough snow to officially call it the new season?!

In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.

found a pretty nice stash of a few hundred feet on the east side of Lola. good call on that, easy and awesome. just had to chance the broken bridge in the 4runner... no biggie.

yo Prophet!
When were you up on Lola?
I hit it up yesterday.
I've been too much of a p@ssy to cross what we call "The Jan Michael Vincent Memorial Bridge of Danger" this entire summer (been up to the Lola Summit ridge 3 times in the last two weeks now and earlier in the summer with Vets when we opted for Perazzo Canyon Chutes rather than chance rolling off the bridge into the river), but you made it across no problemo in a 4Runner? (I have a Taco Mama).
And presuming you were on the stretch of snow right under the summit with a view of Independence Lake in the distance, that's the main one that I've been hitting since last summer when Gone2Alpine hipped me to the area.
It was windy as f@#k yesterday, but the snow was smoovey-smoov.
A couple of mountain bikers passed me on the way up and just as I hit the summit they were headed back down. I swear one of them was Scott Schmidt...
PS @ Schralph: you are right. I am a hypocritical douche...then again, I don't think I've ever denied that!Last edited by dookey67; 10-04-2011 at 12:39 PM.

I see snow falling on the Squaw uber-cam. Time to move to the new thread, following this one still is annoying. ;P

IMHO the next season hasn't started until turns are made on an accumulation of new snow.
I hope to soon be posting some pictures of 10/11 turns made this past weekend at The Nipple and Dunderberg.

I'm making a bid for this.
Last turns of 2010/2011 were around 4 pm at Mt. Lola on Monday, October 3rd.

pretty sure our august 06, 2012 turns were almost exclusively on the 2011 snowpack, so this belongs here?
heading out, everyone had the same view, but they all asked if we thought we'd be able to find snow
nacho is learning that picture time means he gets to rest
if theres no flowers left lower, just go higher
then it was time to ski. the suncups were fun at times, other times, not so much

Damn! Got beat by a month (though I'm gonna be schralpin' some patches this w/e).
Pretty sure that the snow Vets and I skied last month up on Lola was from 10/11 (at least that was Huckasaurass' speculation in the 11/12 thread / Lola TR).
Good show PD and Hutchy!
