KLINT Skis - Anyone Ski Them?

I've never heard of them but they popped up on Promotive so naturally I took a look as the deal is pretty sweet.

Heard through a friend of a friend who rides for them that they are great but looking for some more feedback.

The Klint Kryptos look pretty nice - 118mm under foot in the 180 sounds pretty ideal for me: http://klintsnow.com/krypto.html

No I haven't skied them and sure they look alright, although not interesting to me personally.
But good luck at 780 USD...

KLINT doesn't really make ski's. They are owned by a branding company. So I would assume that they are a generic shape pressed in an anonymous chinese factory, with KLINT topsheets added.

NS kids seem to be all hot on them because they have signed some well known(mostly to NS) skiers.

Like I said, i've got a proform so they are way cheaper than 780. Just wondering if it's worth taking a risk to try them out but yeah not sure I can trust a "ski" company based in San Diego....

    Anyone actually ride this suckas?

Their skis are pretty damn good. You could do a whole lot worse, that's for sure. That said, there are better skis out there. 191 Billy Goats for example

Raps, I had the same thought. I just saw them on promotive as well but I haven't heard much about them. Hopefully this thread generates some discussion.

^^^ That was their new Nympho model I believe, completely different than the Krypno.

I swear to god any time there is a question about a new ski there is someone with one post who pops in that says "it rips in pow and carves trenches!"

I saw them too and was curious....

Have not skied or fondled them yet...

    Info I have so far:

San Diego-based SnowFab licensing has announced its own "house brand" of ski under the name Klint, putting out eight ski models for the 2011-2012 season, in addition to a limited-edition (500 pairs) ski branded as "Rockstar" for the energy drink company and Paul Frank-branded skis. Led by MX and Enduro veteran Ludo Boinnard (who previously launched and sold the popular MX Inc., Braking, Inc. and One Industries in the motocross world, co-founded TAG metals, .now spends his time and hard-earned money riding the Dakar events), SnowFab / Klint launched at SIA in Colorado in 2011. The skis are claimed to be dynamically scaled in not only length and geometry for different lengths to maintain the same handling characteristics, but also in flex pattern. Construction is described as vertically-laminated birch sandwich with titanium alloy (Karver model)

Erik Roner just announced he will be skiing them this year...
The company is based in San Diego, is that where the skis are manufactured, or are they made in china?

Same. I heard of them through Promotive, but only saw them once in person at a consignment place. They're going to be demoing in the SLC area this winter, so I may give them a try just to see what they're all about. Maybe they're as lame as they sound in the thread, maybe not.

We are scheduling a hook-up with a collection of Klint skis at Stowe this season and put out some formal reviews and see how they handle. Stay tuned...

definitely china or something like that. it's not a ski company, it's a marketing company.

Just an FYI, Been trying to find any info.

They are made in the swallow factory in Japan.

    My interests are twofold.

Know enough about these so I can continue to make fun of kids on NS who think these are the second coming.

And maybe pick up a pair of the karvers that they are pretty much giving away on Promotive.

They are definitely chucking a bunch of sponsorships out there.
