Warm weather bringing on the new bike stoke

With temps reaching into the 50's across Montana today, I figured it was time to put aside writing the thesis for the day, pull the tools and stand, open the garage door and build up the new frame and fork i picked up. May as well share some of the stoke. Pretty excited to get back on the full squish after six years on the hardtail.
Transferred the drive train, wheels and bars from the old hardtail but picked up a new 36 Float RLC and some Formula RX brakes. New bars and stem will come with the next paycheck, and i will lace up some new hoops at some point.
Anyone else building up a new ride?

So sexy. Can't wait for a test ride layer this spring. Nice work!

Not building them up, and neither of them belong to me, but both of my brothers bought new bikes recently.

One bought this in September. It has been sitting at our house and he has ridden it twice.

The other brother came home this weekend, saying he wanted to buy a bike. After a few mins of Craigslist shopping, I found this. $1200. Ridden 3x.

I probably ride more in a month than the two of them will all summer, and I don't even have my own bike. WTF? Super jealous. The one who just got the Rockhopper doesn't know anything about it. Apparently having a real job pays off, then you get to buy a whole bunch of toys you'll never get to use.

Not a build per se, more of a work in progress ...

    Last year's Rocky Mountain Slayer.

Since last year, I've added Easton Havoc stem and bars, ODI grips, ceramic pads, carbon fiber stem spacers, and a larger front rotor. I swapped out the front tire for a Kenda Excavator (which is most excellent) and a Maxxis Advantage in the rear. I'm also running a 1x9 drivetrain. Just recently, I threw on a set of twenty6 prerunner pedals and a Straitline chain guide. My buddy is letting me try out his Rock Shox Monarch Plus RC3. In the mail I have some twenty6 gas caps coming to round out the bling action.

And what pr0n is complete without some stoke?

    This weekend out in Pipestone:

    What ski season?

I bought this frame last season and just put old parts on in. I just upgraded to a Fox 36 RC2 fork, Hayes Stroker brakes, X9 1 x 10 drivetrain, MRP chain guide, wheels are next. I it was close to 35 lbs, got it down to 32.

This bike is so much damn fun.

2011 Felt Virtue frame I picked up. Still needs a bit of work to finish it including new brake lines but it's getting close. Also trying to piece together a Niner EMD9.

My Transition TR250 frame is getting stripped and dipped.

I'll post a sale and a TR soon.

VT, thanks. I have only two short rides on it but already loving it. Can't wait for the rest of the trails to melt and dry. K2fatboy, to add to the transition love, all the parts came off a TR Vagrant which will be rebuilt over the summer.

What other new rides are out there?

Not new exactly. Bought this 2010 Mt Vision new last May and have been upgrading parts all fall/winter. Here it is in its current configuration, which I'm pretty happy with. Only things stock I believe are the shock, front derailleur, and front shifter (broken and held together by duct tape but functional). Shock will likely be replaced by a pushed monarch this summer. Finally snapped some decent pics too.

I'm extremely bias and that wheel set is an early production prototype but no problems in three years of hard riding and the new versions are stiffer and more durable (new hub design and a few tweaks in the rim profiles).

Hey, you know what sucks kinda?

When you buy a sweet tricked out Santa Cruz Butcher..........

and then you ride your buddy's Stanta Cruz Carbon Nomad......

Holy shit that is a nice ride. Makes me think the extra $$$$ would have been worth it.

Looks like most people around here mountain bike. I'm in the market for one, or at least a cross bike, but spend most of my bike riding in spandex. Picked up my caad9 last summer and finally got back on it this week. Had a good 30mi ride today.

I know, bike not set up for picture but I was trying to stay ahead of the rain. Made it to within 3mi of home before I got drenched.

I bought THREE bikes this week! Weather has been amazing...I guess... Gotta sell two bikes PRONTO though to avoid the impending divorce.

    I bought:
    Salsa Chili Con Crosso
    Salsa Vaya 2
    Salsa Fargo 2

    Selling:
    Cervelo Soloist Carbon
    Ridley Phaeton R

I realized just how bad my "quiver overlap" was with 3 roadies when I was asked to go on a gravel ride...I had nothing to go on! I traded my Salsa LaCruz last summer (stupid!!) for the Ridley. I don't know why... Anyway, I have the most diverse bike quiver I've ever had with these 3 and my Orbea Lobular and Trek Top Fuel 7.

Stoked to get out riding! I'll post bike pics after I get to ride them a bit!

Good to know. I've been eying those or a set of Easton Havocs for when/if my DT Swiss M480s give out.

I also just noticed that Kronolog seat post. Working better than the Joplin? (It's my next big ticket item for the Slayer.)

    One for sale too...

    $1350 if you're loking for a "medium" 56cm roadie.
