Chasing the storm from Spokane 3/11-3/21
My brother and I will be chasing the storm from Spokane on 3/11-3/21. The plan is to just go after the strongest storms if that is possible in a 8-12 hour circle around Spokane. What I would like to know is if you could help me out with places to stay and or eat around your area. I have friends in a couple spots but no one in Canada or Washington. Could you give me some info? We are on a bit of a dirtbag budget but would like to know of the locals type of bars/restaurants that give you a good meal for the price as well as lodging. Any other info would be great.
Our focus may end up in Canada but it didn't work out that way last year like we thought. If we end up in Idaho and Montana with a foot of fresh who gives a damn? Last year we had a great week at all the Washington areas like Crystal, Stevens, Baker, Mission Ridge, 49 North.
I did do a couple searches and found some info already but I am not sure all of it is current.

Joel's is a family run taco shop in Sandpoint, ID (Schweitzer) with incredible value and amazing food. Ceviche is insane but sells out quickly. You can not go wrong with blackened Swai, Wahoo and/or Salmon tacos. Carnitas & carne asada when all else fails. Whatever the special on the board is, double down on it. Jalapeño Poppers are like crack.
If somehow you are broken down and stranded in downtown Spokane, Zona Blanca for ceviche and cervezazzzzzzz

I might be out around Spokane next weekend for work. Not sure yet but there's lots of tempting skiing nearby and I've met a few good skiers in the area

I would head north and get into BC asap. Start in Rossland.
BTW- I can't believe Joel's is still going, is he still in that truck thing by the park?

4way fo sho!
Just throwing this here for OP incase he was thinking of hitting Schweitzer on his grand tour: Schweitzer Spring Fling Pass - Ski or board from March 13th until the end of the 2016/17 (April 16, 2017) season for only $99 +tax - that’s unlimited skiing for less than two full day tickets at the ticket window! SCORE! (*On March 13th, the price goes to $119 + tax.) http://www.schweitzer.com/plan/spring-fling/

49N is riding rough lately; trees and glades need a foot or more out of
this storm cycle to fluff it up a bit ...... Nordlig hotel is always full,
Chewelah Inn seems to have vacancies, never stayed
in either; a night at the Quartzite Brewery is recommended"we all do dumb shit when we're fucked up" mike tyson

So chasing the storm seems to be a problem this coming week. So my best idea is to go ski places I never have before so Canada here we come in guess. Any ideas boys?

whitefish is looking good for upcoming storm snow? maybe Turner this weekend?
Fernie, castle and kimberly should get some too, but watch freezing levels.
if a big storm comes thru, check pano 1-3 days after. They usually dont get snow, but if they do it will be GOOD
banff area will NOT get rain, but will also not get huge amounts, but 5-10cm lasts forever and the wind will re-fill things VERY nicely.
