I didnt think they would last long at BC when I saw they had them for $799. I am still waiting to hear if I am getting mine or not, hopefully hear back today. Otherwise might have to look else where. Seems like there are quite a few options though. New Scott Stunt in a 196 looks promising or Folsoms and then I could avoid the ugly graphics on the Super S7s

picked mine up from Monods in Banff today. My bank account is laughing at me and my inner grad student is just weeping; that's the most I've ever dropped on boards. I like the ill birds in the base inlay. gfx mean little compared to how its gonna ski though. they only had 2 pair and they're both gone. Too bad I have to wait for the holiday bonus for the dukes. Ah well, it will give me a chance to hear the reviews come in on mount point. BTW, baggins, or anyone else, any word on recommended bevels for these bad boys? I'm thinking a shifted 90 by 1.5-2º haven't taken the truebar to them yet though. I'll take a look in a bit and post what I find.

Evo has one pair in the store... or at least as of 1:30 today they did. Got to fondle them and can honestly say I'm super excited for the ski.

The flex is perfect IMO, very similar, maybe a touch stiffer, to my 190 Katanas which I heart dearly. The ski feels very well made in hand. Graphics come off better in person — not too loud — and like this years Barras there is a cool gloss spot varnish with more demon birds and whatnot. Weight didn't seem over the top. I held a pair of 190 Katanas in one hand and the Sup7s in the other — very close in weight.

For those of you who are looking to pick up a set EVO has the one pair at the shop and some more (not sure how many pairs) at the warehouse that have not been processed. The word is they will be ready to release after turkey weekend. Giddy-up.

Mine got mounted at -1 with Marker Jesters. I skied them today at snowbird. Very little fresh snow, lots of bulletproof. They ski bigger and stiffer than they hand flex. They felt a little hooky and grabby at high speeds, almost had a near death experience. I think this is mostly due to how sharp and tuned these come from the factory. My buddy who mounted them for me is a Volkl rep and he's seen a couple of pairs of these as well as some of the other new Rossi skis and he says they are coming from the factory with a nicer tune than anyone else.

^^^^ the cut on my hand confirms this. Be careful while fondling.

The tips n tails need to be detuned big time.

I'm still waiting on mine to show but got a pair of the '09-'10 S6's end of last year and they were razor sharp as well and did need to be detuned tip and tail.

    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Are all the 195s "super" or do they make the normal s7 in a 195?

So.... what Stevens Pass or Baker skier has a pair of 195s I can try for a run in a few weeks? You can ski my 202 138s(with large dukes, so super adjustable) or my 189 One Lifes. I need to get on a pair of these and 193 EHPs this year...

    Questions fellas...
I'm thinking about investing in a ski set up. Whenever I have the splitty in tour mode, I find myself wishing I were just skiing. I'm really craving the transportation element that snowboards, even split boards, desperately lack.

The S7 looks mighty sexy. Primary question is about sizing. I don't think I want or need the heavy metal of the 195. The whole point is to conjure my inner, um, golden retriever, and the added weight would defeat that purpose to an extent. Just trying to earn some freshies, not really a full throttle kinda guy these days. But on the other hand, I'm 6', 200#, so it seems like I'm stuck between sizes and am pushing my luck with the 188, considering there are people 30-40# lighter on the same size ski.

The other questions are about boots. Got pair of old-ish (circa 2004) Lange Banshees that are competent boots, but I'm also thinking about an upgrade. Curious to hear about AT boots currently being used to drive the S7s. What boot/binder setup are you on? Anyone mounted/though about mounting dynafits on these?

    Stream of thought welcome.

    Thanks.

At your weight, you may find the 188s a little short, especially in more open spaces. What about the 190 Moment Bibby?

I'm 5'11" and 205lbs and love the 188 S7. I have a pair mounted with a alpine binding and a pair with a dynafit. Awesome tour setup but pushing the weight a little for long tours so I agree with you that the 195 would be overboard especially since you said your not a full throttle guy. As far as boots go you need to find what fits but look at the dynafit titan or zues, garmont radium and black diamond factor. I'll ski out gates occasionally with my alpine boots but I would highly recommend touring boots for many reasons.

I got my super7s 195 "Will Barras" in feb this year and all I can say is that it is an awesome ski! If you have the possibility get a pair!
