Ich bitte dich nur, weck mich nicht.
Love those pictures, Klar! That's a great one with the berries! God, I wish I could be out there on skis right now, enjoying this snow! Thank you for sharing those! Reminds me of March a few years back (you can see the contours from what's below - not great in March back then...) Looks like a blast!
All I have- roses in the backyard:
A winter scene in Parsberg, Germany:
The German people were not keen on this snowfall. I was giddy. Even if I can't ski. Snow brings out the kid in meEnjoy, man, enjoy...
Though we here at the far eastern corner of the Alps got only a fraction of the amount of snow in Innsbruck having the first turns since June was quite stimulating.
Niederalpl, 1200-1500m (Styria) today:

St. Antönien (Eastern Switzerland) about 70 cm of fresh.
Pretty good season start for middle of October.
Unfortunately visibility was low, but hey.... I am not complaining. It was fun!

etna, sicily, two days ago:
dudes, that place truly rocks....
no skiing here yet, but we got the first snow in Rila and Pirin as well.. here's a shot from Malyovica peak, I was up there two days ago, breaking trail in 20 cm of snow in mid October is a good start of the winter

embarassment edit: I forgot to post pics properly!
It's a war of the mind and we're armed to the teeth.
Thats what we got in the very very east of Austria last thursday. Seeing the pics in the thread I am hitting myself in the face for not getting in the car immeadiately and driving west west west.
Location Stuhleck/Semmering.
woah, stoiber ist überall, weiche satan!!!!
This is how you talk when you learn English from pornos.
Damn it's a lot earlier than I was expecting to see pics like this
I'm thinking about heading out to Austria at the start of Dec for the season...looks like there is a good base starting to form eh
Austria generally gets good early snow. At least that's what I have noticed most of the last 7 years.
Ski, Bike, Climb.
Resistence is futile.

seems there has been a bit of a sprinkle this end of the alps as well.
anybody here living and skiing the upcoming season in southtyrol/dolomites and lagrave/nearby grenoble?
^yeah, i'm in grenoble for the year. unsure how much time i'll get to spend at la grave though. don't get me wrong, i'd love to be skiing there on a regular basis but i've yet to make the right connections, connections that will be certainly required to get the best out of, and stay safe in such rugged terrain.
if there are any grenoble-based (or nearby) mountain goats that would be happy to take a capable, young (and therefore fairly inexperienced in the realms of high-mountain travel and safety) whippersnapper under their wing for the odd day here and there in la grave, i'd me most enthusiatic and grateful!
failing that i think i'll be doing most of my day-to-day skiing in promising-sounding places like les7laux and st pierre de la chartreuse. alternatively, i daresay given the wealth of options in the immediate area for such activities, i'll be letting my already oversized clothing push the boundaries in acceptable on-mtn attire, skiing switch a lot, getting my flippy-spin on and wearing bandanas more than is right and proper for a white middle-class kid...
like i said however, if anyone has the time, situation and inclination to keep me on the righteous path, skiing forward, fast and in the challenging terrain at la grave, then i'm all ears...
