not sure if anyone wants to hook up to ski tomorrow, but i'm trying to figure something out. i know TC and others are going to be doing presidential range stuff, but i think it might still be locked up... anyone planning to do anything else tomorrow preferably self served? SBN? Bolton? Stowe? looks like plenty of sun if a bit cold on the rockpile

heavy snow back in the picture, this time for thursday night.

if nothing else, a little snow related suspense will make things interesting over the next few days...

Back in VT now and was hoping to ride something this weekend, but not sure on the weather and things are looking real hurt in these parts.....

Here are some snow pictures I took last week before I left Mammoth, a bit of a change coming home to VT.

The condo below has a real nice view from the porch...and you can make pow turns all the way to the door...

Had to hit up the backyard right before I left to get one more pow turn in...

    Yeah, great. Whatever.

I can't help it, but pictures like that (and memories of such places) make me think we're morons for even bothering to ski around here.

^ easy dex, at least we know how to finish a turn. think of it as good training for west coast retirement living. that's what i keep telling myself anyway and yeah those pics hurt bad, this season started late and ended early. as all pre '04 sox fans used to say "wait till next year".

    Sigh...
    4/11/10 Stowe:

(Although for what it's worth, I did ski all the way to the last patch of snow - the one right at the bottom of this pic).

Oh well, maybe next year will be better.

    ^^ great pics.
    and completely surreal.
nice that you can ski (switch) right onto the deckchair.

    and wow!

i've never seen stowe close without liftline running to the chair.
    that's a really sad sight.
i noticed it closed on the report but didn't believe it.

yea, i finished the season at MRG with 3 mad card vouchers in my wallet.
they closed a day early so couldn't even give 'em away sunday.

burning barrels of unused ski vouchers instead of skis - so hot on EC, fall '10

    remember who predicted it here

two days earlier those ledges on chute were completely buried, midwinter-style

A little help please. From the reports coming in via Thin Cover's wife there has been an injury in the Presidentials. We are trying to find out who Thin Cover is up there with and where they were going. Finally if anyone familiar with the area can let us know the nearest hospital it would be much appreciated. If anyone has any info can you shoot me a pm or an email at mlillard at magicmtn dot com.

    Thanks.

Here's the last few location texts I got from TC:

Friday Nite: Jefferson and the King and Castle Ravines on Monday. Great Gully and Sisters Couloirs.

Yesterday: Hit Space Walk couloir/Great Gulf. He said everything had blown to the lee side of the mtn. (got the same text as MTBSB did) -- I'd assume they're on the eastern side today. Maybe up in the GG/GOS area?

TC said it was him and FixedGrip when we talked Friday, plus sounded like others. Wouldn't be surprised if ISBD and VTFreeheel were along.

From King/ Route 2 you can hit Androscoggin Hospital in Gorham, the next closest is Memorial in North Conway. (603) 356-5461

Anyone that I know that has been injured in GOS went to Memorial.
You're gonna stand there, owning a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistling bungholes, no spleen spliters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker donts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistling kitty chaser?

Hope everyone is okay. I was up there with them yesterday, the plan for today (as of 6pm yesterday) was to hit turkey/spacewalk. Don't know if that changed, but everyone was pretty stoked on it then. They're definitely parked by the cog.
