Is it wise to bet your life on the reliability of any ski binding? I wonder about it anytime I take a run over exposure, even with a Pivot FKS set at 18.
Admittedly it looks like a really fucked up failure, something impossible to predict, unless, like Dawson suggested, you were checking the housing for cracks with a magnifying glass. But regardless, faith in plastics and aluminum needs to be kept in check.
