Why did ski manufacturers have to go all auto industry and have next years model come out 9 months before next year.

Those are shipping now. We got 10 pairs in our shop last week, sold 'em and have 10 more pairs coming in next week.

I don't know why they can't just say it is a 09/10 ski. Maybe so there are no early season sales that cut into the money made off them now? Thats all i can think of.

    Also, there is
    1) a thread about the 195 S7 already.
    2) at least one pair at evo if you want to fondle them

Graphics are lame...Same with the RC 112, a white ski. The Mancini graphic and the solid dps skis are much better looking. With that being said, I want to get on a pair of both skis as soon as possible!!!

I have had mine for 2 weeks w/ no new snow to test them on. Skied 1 day on very firm windblown/Ice/corn and was pretty impressed considering the conditions. You can definitely tell it has some metal in it ( both by the weight and the stability). Not great on ice, but not bad either. I tend to believe this is going to be more a big mountain ski than a super playful stick. Stable even on hard snow, medium flex, and a big footprint. Maybe even on par w/ the solly rocker in weight ( mine have dukes sooo... not light ). Now I'm just waiting for the big dump. US Outdoor (Portland, OR) also has a pair left.

Agreed, the graphics are lame, but I could not care less. The Cab graphics last year however where the best I've seen in a while ( just too short ).

A lot of brands have been doing that for years now..

I like the shades used on the 195s but the wierd monster things look bad.

Sort of but not really IMO, not to the extent that snowboards companies do. Ski world, as I said, Moment, Line, and 4FRNT are the ONLY brands doing this well enough. Anyway, sorry to get off topic here.

What about Salomon, K2(factory series), Rossi(S series), Surface, and Armada to name a few. Just saying, not all those brands have every ski colorfull, but they have a lot. I do agree the ones you named have some nice graphics though.

Back to S7, who has skied them/can tell us of the betterism compared to the 188s? Lotus 120s(which have a tip shape(straighter at the end) that I am at the moment trusting more, so really want to here how it goes)?

I would throw pm gear with their lhasa into the mix. This graphic sorta reminds me of it.

Was checking mine at the ski store today for mount with dukes. Look really sweet. my wife says the little monsters are pow eaters......
Great translucent second image on it. Many things going on. No pic does justice. THe huge orange R looks cool. Cant wait to ski them over christmas. Funny how they are mismarked at 145/120/130 when they are really 145/117/127. Great looking, flex seems good, time will tell. A short 195
I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

They did this because alL of the forecasted sales in the Barras graphic sold out preseason and they had to ramp up production of the next years graphic to meet the demand... Not a bad thing for brand R...

I am waiting for mine to show up in AK next week so I can mount em up with NTN tele bindings. Since I work weekends, other mags are welcome to try them...

That pic doesn't do the colors any justice. The flames on the bird house, the R logo, & the super man style S7 logo are all the same color orange as the FKS 18 (probably the reason for the orange binding) they do look better in person. they are shorter than a 189 Obsethed

    Advice needed re: S7 195

I'm thinking about buying the 195 S7. I'll be using it as my everyday ski, so I want something stable on more than just pow. I've not yet skied rockered skis, but they sound great from everyone I know. I've been on 190cm Volkl Explosivs which are a few years old, but solid. I generally ski something in the 188-190 range, I like a fairly stiff ski, I like to ski fast and aggressively, and I don't ski park or switch.

I was contemplating getting Rossi's RC112 in the 188, but when I heard they were offering the S7 in a 195 with a sheet of metal in it I thought about that. I'm concerned that the 185 S7 will be too short and not stiff enough.

I hear the rockered ski like the s7 skis shorter than it's length. I'm fairly light (145lbs) so I'm a bit concerned about going up to a 195. Does anyone have an opinion on whether the 195 s7 will really ski like a 195cm ski, or will is ski shorter and be more manageable? If so, I think that's the ski I want.

    BAugst,

i've skied both of those skis you're looking at. if i were 145lbs i would have a hell of a time trying to ski the 188 rc112. it is a stiff ski that seemed to ski longer than most other rockered/early tip rise skis out there. it rails on the groomers and seeks the fall line everywhere. i had a hard time skiing them in the mank but i don't charge hard anymore like most of you on here. on the flip side, the 195 s7 is just about the right stiffness for me at 185lbs plus a pack. it skis like a traditional ski in the mid to low 180's. short radius turns aren't a problem and stability isn't an issue with the added metal.

i'm not sure what size ski you were talking about in a 185cm but if you meant the 188 s7, it might be a great ski for someone at 145lbs. i think you could ski either s7 length w/o a problem. they are both easy to ride, so take your pick.

Nothing much at all, just the 195 is a couple mm wider in the tip and waist
