WTF? Just got an email with this photo. Looks legit. Sound like Red Bull/Silverton/Shaun White have teamed up to build a superpipe on the backside of silverton.

Anyone know anything about this? Let's see some photos from whoever is there this weekend.

I would love to see someone ski the Grande and then enter the pipe at mach speed. Sweeeeet!

zero class from the flying tampon on this one. I guess avy debris is a good substitute for man-made snow? There isn't that much BLM land in alpine CO otherwise it may have been built closer to... something. At least Silverton is getting some capital out of it.

So it's cool for Silverton, but bad for SW? Who's to say it wasn't Red Bulls idea, all they seem to be doing is bigger, better, faster and in Hi-Def? SW may just be taking marching orders.

What will be funny is all the park rats showing up to Silverton next year in their WRXs, checking in and asking where the terrain park is.

because he gets drunk, steals cars, and goes into breck hotel and sprays fire extinguisher at girlfriend and gets busted on camera. And because he's a brand and not an athlete at this point. He's gotten too comfortable and isn't pushing the sport like some of the other guys out there. is that enough/

not really. I don't follow his personal life that much, nor do i care to. The guy is smoove. If he is getting away with it, more power to him. Sounds like some weird gay jealousy.

Personally, I am stoked that they are doing something cool with Red Bull at Silverton, which will bring exposure and hopefully some revenue to a place that maggots love, for that we should be grateful. Or I guess the Brills will be considered "the man" and "sellouts" for this move, i hope not, but that is the way some (retards) think.

I know, that's pretty lame. I'd have so much more respect for Shawn if he rode more than just park and pipe all the time. I mean I know the dude probably rides a good amount of pow, but you never see it. Still, Silverton should provide a pretty sick backdrop for a film segment, but goddamn, branch out and do something different Shawn. Whatsa matter, can't ride pow with the big boys?

I lost love for SW when he threw his little temper tantrum at the x games 2 years ago when he got 2nd, got a ride back up to the top of the pipe and took another run...after the comp had just finished and the winner (Steve Fisher, I think) was decided and celebrating.
I also can't stand that fucking billboard in Idaho Springs, but luckily I don't go skiing anymore so I barely drive past it. I hope that shit is down by the time Keystone opens back up this summer.

another WTF??? I cant belv andy went for this... doesnt sound like the cool ass guy i met and hiked up the grande with... wow, what a way to ruin a KILLER run at that place... although, it would be fun to watch all those trays try to hike to the top of the grande a few times in a day ha ha ha.
p.s. just saw the pic, thats in a shitty spot, right in the middle of bomber central coming out of the grande... fastest ive ever been on anything non-motorized was right about where that pipe is...
