What thermo liner to replace Radium stock liner?

My Radium stock liners suck donkey dick and I need to switch them out this year for something a bit more roomy in the toe box? Any suggestions?

I used to Intuition Powerwraps to get more toe-midfoot space in my Zzeuses, and to take up more space in the calf.

Good to know. Exactly what I'm looking to do.

Same boat except for the donkey dick thing. Going Intuition when the funds are around.

Powerwrap is appealing, but I'm mostly doing day tours.

Wonder about the new pro tour.

I like some of the features, but wonder about putting a tongue liner in an overlap cuff boot. [edit: obviously it's do-able, and I like the stock tongue liner for getting in/out of the boots, but am asking if the tongue design is part of what's making it hard to lock down the heel, and if a wrap would be better? /end needless clarification]

    Thoughts from any boot fitters?

and yes, I'm waiting to hear back from Intuition...

tongue liner = better touring...less padding.

wrap liner = more padding...better skiing.

i'd go for the alpine. if you want even more beef...go powerwrap.

Agreed. I prefer Intuition tongue (Luxury?) liners in the 2 buckle touring boots I use with ultra light skis. They're definitely less restrictive in terms of fore-aft flex.

I would have a good look at the new Touring liner or the Freeride liner. Both are designed with AT boots in mind. I put the Freeride in mine two years ago and it transformed the boot from an impossible fit with tight toes and loose heel, essentially useless, into not a bad touring boot that was comfortable to wear all day. The Touring liner has laces and a swapable tongue with several stiffness options and is a good idea for anyone suffering from heel movement as the laces help keep the foot in place.

I presume you are talking about the radium? They ski great, but would like them to feel like slippers for longer terrs.

Yes, sorry I was referring to the Radiums. The Intuitions transformed them from a bad, almost impossible fitting boot into a very comfortable one. I still have a few heel lift problems, which is not the fault of the liner, but the boot which has a large heel pocket. I will give the new laced Touring liners a try this year I think and see if that solves the problem. The Freeride liners are in almost new shape after 2 seasons of heavy touring and have not packed out noticably.

Intuition now makes a touring specific liner. That might not be a bad choice. Also the higher end zipfit liners last forever, and the lace up feature does help prevent blistering when touring.

Agreed. And another vote from me for the power wraps, though they did diminish the walk mode smoothness and range somewhat.

Garmont owe me a refund on those liners of theirs, they suck so bad as to be almost unusable. They should just sell the shell.

Word. I am going to go with the Pro Tours then...

I am more of a finesse skier, non-hucker, so I think the power wrap is a bit overkill

a guy on my crew last year had his radiums punched out a bit on the outside around the toe/ball of foot ( or maybe thats the 6th toe?) ... sez it made a big difference

I got chicken legs and ankles ,I got power wraps in my dalbello overlap alpine boots ,also some old wrap around riachles in my tele boots and I LIKE the way they take up space around the ankles

I put Intuition luxury liners into my Radiums. Plenty happy with the outcome.

Can't be said too much; stock Radium liners suck.

I also have the Intuition Luxury liners in my Radiums - lovin' em. Didn't even try skiing the Radiums with the stock liners.

any fit issues you would like to specifically address? room in toes? tightness in ankle/heel pocket? space in lower leg or instep?

gotta get the right tool for the job. some liners are better at fixing certain problems than others.

The narrow toe box of the stock liners is the primary issue. I want these things to feel like slippers and be easy to tour in...

The toe box of the Radium stock liner really is a horror story.

Why oh why does Garmont not give up their attempt to make liners is beyond me. Gfit was dogshit; Gfit2 was dogshit; and the new Radium liners aren't even soft enough to wipe your ass with. I suppose i can't say this on wildsnow so thanks for letting me blunt. Can't figure out why they suck so badly when Garmont obviously knows how to make decent boots

^^^^^^ Steve says what I say in the articles and writeups but with about 5,000 less words

ADDED - want touring with heel hold - go Pro-tour liner

Which is fine. Thankfully, I have a fairly simple foot. I just want these things to be comfortable. Looks like the Pro Tour is the way to go...

Yo Lee, good thing you wrote that under your pen name

Also just realized I have normal wraps, not the power wraps. I took the Intuition liners from my old Scarpa boots... hint to Garmont, why do I have to buy a new Garmont boot just to recycle the old liner from my retired boot of another brand? /scratched record.

I have little experience with Garmont boots, but I thought the liner for the Prophet sucked. I might have stuck with the boot if the liner was better, but instead went with Scarpa's TX-Pro. So yeah, count me as a lost sale for Garmont because of a poor liner.
