    Scarpa Mobe

I just saw a pic of the new Scarpa Mobe freeride boot in powder mag. I was just getting ready to buy the zzues or titan and now this, anybody know when this will be on the market.

They will hit the market whenever your local Scarpa dealer that ordered them puts them on the shelf.

While this will jinx me for sure, I just tracked mine via Fed Ex ground shipment being in Calgary. Scheduled to arrive at my parents place in Chilliwack, BC tomorrow as when I ordered them I was homeless. Here is hoping they arrive on time before I move up to Terrace on Wednesday or I'll have to get them forwarded via Canada Post which will take forever.

Just to mess with your decision a little more, look at the new efficient series from Black Diamond. Has anyone been able to test any of those boots? The Quadrant looks like a pretty legit stiff boot that still is light enough to tour in.

I have not put them on my feet and flexed them, but from what I understand, neither the Quadrant nor the Maestrele are even intended to be in the same catagory as a Mobe/Zzeus/Titan/etc. They will be significantly softer.

i've skied on the quadrants a lot. i think you will find them very stiff and powerful...and definitely in the same category as the titan...but lighter. they are not quite as stiff as the factor...maybe not as stiff as the mobe.

So how does the mobe differ from the typhoons / hurricanes? I take it they're the stiffest of the three, are they basically an alpine boot with a walk mode like the hurricane or are they somehow more tour friendly?

Does anyone know if they have the same super high volume fit as the rest of Scarpa boots?

a little less. looks like buckles will do a better job. Maestrale will be tighter.

Just got home from work and found a fedex box at my door!

I'll try and put up some sort of review as soon as i can. But from first impressions, its extremely light well built boot with an impressive flex and range while in walk mode.

Really like the look of the ski/walk lever, looks burly... Can you compare the flex to the Titans? What do they weigh?

I can't say for sure but the Mobe lower looks a lot like the Spirit 4 lower which IIRC is 304mm for a 25.5/26. I'll surely be within a few mm of that.
