Group Buy: Toko Shop Wax: ORDERING NOW CLOSED!!!!

I have closed orders as of 1:30 PM Eastern Time, Today Monday Oct 1st.

    THANKS!!!!!

    __________________________________________________ _____________

There was quite alot of interest in the Toko wax last year, and I have had several PMs regarding a group buy this year as well.

Heres what we are looking at:

    Cold 18 to -4 F -----------------1KG ----------------$25 + $5 shipping (4 - 250gram bars)
    Molybdenum --------------------1KG ----------------$25 + $5 shipping
    Universal -----------------------1KG ----------------$25 + $5 Shipping
    Warm 32 to 18F ----------------1KG ----------------$25 + $5 Shipping

    Cold 18 to -4 F ---------------250 gram bar ----------------$9 + $5 shipping
    Molybdenum -----------------250 gram bar ----------------$9 + $5 shipping
    Universal --------------------250 gram bar ----------------$9 + $5 Shipping
    Warm 32 to 18F -------------250 gram bar ----------------$9 + $5 Shipping

This wax works great. It is just a basic shop wax, but runs real well. I have been mainly using it for racing the last 2 seasons and am still skiing fast.

In the comments let me know what kind of wax and how much along with the appropriate funds. If you want multiple items remove all shipping and just put $10 to cover costs.

SHIPPING TO LOWER 48 ONLY add an additional $10 if you are wanting it sent to CANAduh.

Molybdenum (from the Greek meaning "lead-like"), is a chemical element with the symbol Mo and atomic number 42. It has the sixth highest melting point of any element, and for this reason it is often used in high-strength steel alloys. Molybdenum is found in trace amounts in plants and animals, although excess molybdenum can be toxic in some animals. Molybdenum was discovered in 1778 by Carl Wilhelm Scheele and first isolated in 1781 by Peter Jacob Hjelm.

Molybdenum is a transition metal with an electronegativity of 1.8 on the Pauling scale and an atomic mass of 95.9 g/mole.[1] It does not react with oxygen or water at room temperature. At elevated temperatures, molybdenum trioxide is formed in the reaction 2Mo + 3O2 → 2MoO3.[2]

In its pure metal form, molybdenum is silvery white and very hard, though it is somewhat more ductile than tungsten. It has a melting point of 2623°C, and only tantalum, osmium, rhenium and tungsten have higher melting points.[3] Molybdenum burns only at temperatures above 600°C.[4] It also has the lowest heating expansion of any commercially used metal.[5]

Molybdenum has a value of approximately $65,000 per tonne as of 4 May 2007. It maintained a price at or near $10,000 per tonne from 1997 through 2002, and reached a high of $103,000 per tonne in June 2005.[6]

I take it these are the basic CH waxes, yellow(warm)-red(universal)-blue(cold).

    Paypal sent. Thanks!

We used Moly a lot for nordic racing when the snow gets a lot of dirt in it, mainly in the spring. Probably wouldn't use it much for dry new snow.

It's the only substance that can be used in conjunction with the liquid hot magma in Solly skis, duh.

It's also a base wax that works well if you're gonna put a high teck fluorinated wax on top of it. If you're using one of Indy's as the glide wax, my guess would be to stick with one of the other three. http://www.reliableracing.com/downlo...techmanual.pdf

Oh, and thanks Indy!! Paypal sent.

    Indy GS,
I want 1kg of the warm and 1kg of the cold. Would that be $10 or $5 shipping?

    $10.

The weight will start to cost me. Last year i was able to ship 1K to Utah for around $6.00 from Indiana. at $10 I'm not making anything off the shipping. At five I'm breaking even.

In the original post, I stated add an additional $10 for shipping to canada.

So if you order 1 KG of wax, it will be $15. If you by more make it $20.

If you order 1 or 2 250gram bars, shipping will be $10 to canada.
    3 or more $15

If it's the same wax I got from Indy last year the universal is white.

    Indy GS,

When do you need payment by to get in on the deal?

Do you know what colors corespond to the waxes you have available? I can't find "warm", "cold", or "universal" on the Toko website?

    White = Universal
    bluish green = Cold
    Black = Molybdenum
    Orange/yellowish = warm

They won't have this on their site. It is typically sold to shops.

I will wrap up the deal on friday or monday. which is when I will need payment in. I don't want to get left holding the bag for anyone like I did last year. I eventually got paid, but there were a few LONG term stragglers.

So far We have had a great turn out.

Indy, sorry one more question before I send payment. Do you use universal or warm for corn/slush/warm spring days above 32 deg F?

What are the dimensions per block?
As far as shipping, if you're shipping multiple blocks and they will fit, USPS flat rate boxes (the boxes are free) cost about $8 or so to ship, independent of weight.

Harpo, I would suggest running the Orange/yellow in warmer weather above 32. However the universal seems to work nicely too, and blurs the line if the conditions will be questionable.

At this price, I would get both.

Yeah the USPS flat rate boxes work, and are now about $9.00 to ship, then I have packing material and time going to and from the post office. I can pack up to 4KG of the wax in a flat rate box. That is why I said $10 for more than 1 KG. Add in Paypal fees and I don't make anything off shipping.

For the Cold, Warm, and Molybdenum, are these high-fluoro or low-fluoro or hydrocarbon? probably hydrocarbon? Looks like the best deal is to get any of those varieties in 1 kilo increments.
