    Closing Day at Alta...

Big thanks to Lonnie for the TGR Alta closing day giveaway:

Starting with three laps on Baldy. First lap was nearly solitary but by the third, lots of people were in on it:

So this guy decided to go fly a kite:

    With himself as the payload:

You can never have too many powder streamers on a day like today:

    Snowler Blades work good too:

The Rustler Citadel of Snowball Artillery:

Get a life beater? And some snowballs too...

    Beater's Maggette?

    Ready; Aim;

    FIRE!

    Good times:

Thanks, Jake the avi dog and the whole crew at Alta!

That's funny. We figured last night that most of the people throwing snowballs up there were either teenagers or baldheaded out-of-towners...

    Alta

My first Alta closing ceremony and it was a hoot. All the lifties had coolers that you could drop a tip into for the fine season. I was glad to see that many were giving up a can or two so the help would have some fun at the end of the day.

Onno posted a nice note just asking people to behave thenselves so that this tradition can continue. As he said the High Rustler celebration has drawn the attention of the SLC water folks plus the County Sheriff, Forest Service, and the Town Marshall can't ignore it when the other agencies show up plus the media.

    What a year!!

My first Alta seasonender (first time at Alta actually!) as well, super fun party up on High Boy and the parking. Might have to do this again at some point.....
Flying the Bluehouse colors in Western Canada! Let me know if you want some rad skis!!

    more pics and TR

Had a sweet time as well. There were also fully naked men and women in that group and saw a totally nude woman take a spill and slide a bit down High Rustler. Bet she got a little snow burned on her ass!

I posted a full TR with lots of other good pics from YMJC on my dreaded Examiner page.

So glad I was there and part of the festivities/debauchery. It was such a fun day, and although it wasn't a pow day, and I really didn't do much skiing, it was definitely one of my best days this season. The conversations and incidences that took place up there were priceless. Thanks to everyone who helped make that happen!

Good times, nice to see a few friends up top. Im still feeling the pain of my rather intense sunburn, but that just means the goggle tan will hang around even longer. See you all at the bird!

Bumping this up for a question.

I know that party last year was on or about the 18th of april, but since alta is closing for full weekday skiing on the 18th and opening one extra weekend 23,24,and 25th is the party on the 25th?

I'd think so, but hell..what do I know?
