FYI:
Last day for ski lifts on Whistler side is April 23. After that day, only Backcomb side operates ski lifts from 10am-4pm.

The spring pass is Blackcomb only this year for $159 (Apr 23 - May closing), could be a consideration?
I love Lake Louise and spring laps on the backside are fun, but WB has a monster snowpack right now so I would vote Blackcomb.

Seems that we are having a late spring arrival here in the Howe Sound Corridor.
Late April could be great for fresh snow, but unless the sun shines, rain would probably be on the menu.[B]Safety third.......

Rockies for the win!!! Usually sunny with surprise powder days fairly common. Backside of the Lake can hold winter into may some years.

Whistler has a great snow pack this year, but typical weather is at least overcast, and probably raining low and maybe wet snow highup. LL is usually sunny, stays colder and if it does precipitate is much more likely to be dry snow.
However, if you are choosing somewhere you are going to travel to for a spring session, I would probably pick Mount Bachelor. Been going down there in the spring for years and it is always great, and if you bring your bike, then if the weather on the hill isn't good you can ride. Hell even if it is good you can ride cause they do a early open, early close on late spring season.
