I checked on this while at MRG for woods maintenance yesterday and from the sound of it the early January date has no significance. I was told the goal is second weekend of December to Christmas because ticket sales early season are always low anyways but the mountain would likely open on weekends from Thanksgiving on in the event of early dumps. My guess is that January date was either pessimism or a guess based on last years opening. Also some of those woods lines are looking incredible right about now.

Anyone want some beat up 177 Kendos, silver dragon topsheet, used 3 seasons? Mounted once for small dukes. Free for pickup in Boston. In OK shape except for an edge bulge. Could probably be epoxied.

Yeah, I figured... x-mas is pretty key for $$$. No way would they go into the season with this mentality/date this early.

Last year was obviously one of the worst, but hoping it improves. Nice work in the woods.

I got a new camera that has really helped improve the image quality of my low light photography.

Random question: so what triggers a new ECRC thread each year? First snowfall? Post ULLR fest?

...feel like I'm about to get blasted for this...!

Typically the first accumulating snowfall that makes it into the valleys.

Looks like Sunday evening has potential (assuming Ullr is pleased with this year's fest )

VT-F has had the honors for the last several years, so it's kinda up to him.

It's been triggered by summer melts some years. Might be a party and snow this weekend?

Now wait just a minute... You're telling me there are great foliage locations outside of Vermont. UNPOSSIBLE

Great shots. It looks like the Catskills had a great foliage season this year too.
