Sadly I don't speak Norsk and no idea where else to look on the web.

Glorious weekend of sunshine in Cham, made the most of it with a leisurely lap of the Petit Envers including an extended lunch break at the Refuge du Requin. Skied out into town, but not sure I'd do it again now, it's a walk in the mud from well before you cross the Montenvers train track.

Conditions are looking rather good. Good season snow wise so base is ok. Week ago there was a few day warm spell with temps up to +10c in 1500m, that apparently consolidated the snow pack quite a bit. The coming week has started colder with some 5-30cm forecasted to jotunheim. Longer term forecasts are still open, but high pressure might set in after the coming weekend (26th), so fingers crossed.

Will head to Jotunheimen the coming weekend for 2 weeks. Will spend the first week touring around west jotunheim and the second week will do the Haute Route with norwedgian maggot, Onwards.

Here are some links that Onwards sent me:

For anyone who's interested about steep skiing around the MB massif, this "blog" (more of a diary) is worth keeping an eye on. Mikko is quite a topdog in Chamonix, though prefers to keep it grassroots and not to do it for sponsors. But still the CV (diary) is pretty fkn gnar and updated pretty much daily. Did the Aiguille Verte Y a couple years back, has a first descent on the Midi-Plan NF (Fil-a-Plomb), drops in regularly quotes like "oh yeah, Mallory is a nice freeride, did it over ten times already " I had the joy of spending a day on an easy line with him yesterday and damn the turns are razor sharp and effortless. Regards 5.3 as the beginning of steep and skied "about a hundred steep lines" in the last 3˝ seasons over here.. Very interesting to see what goes down in May-June, as this is the last season of a so called "three year project"

A week ago we had good cover to 1300m on south faces in Salzburgerland, yesterday it was very thin and with the weather forecast I guess they'll be mostly gone below 2000m by the weekend. Always amazing (and sad) how quickly it goes.

Any beta on conditions down in Val de Isere? I heard over 2000m is still in shape to ski but that was from another region of France

I never clipped any rocks, so seemed like great coverage to us. We had about boot deep blower until noon. Sun was baking hot though. Mash potatoes quick. Not a lot in the shade up there inbounds.

arolla was around 150-170% in the valley for a greater part of the season since early Feb.
now (last thursday) down to 80% in the valley, but as ripz said it is very southerly, so higher and northerly aspects should still be very good there.
Even more so further west because the 100% in Arolla is not very much compared to other 100% areas in the western alps.

It's not europe, but I hope you still like it: here are some more pics from my big AK trip:

Our first real objective, the Python.
    looks easy enough.

on a closer look it looked bigger and steeper

going blind. I have a lot of steeze pics where i did not see the last pillow

on our way to the RFS, which stands for Really..F.... Steep. Thta's the name in the guidebooks

    nice mini lines...

    still fun.

Not quite AK style pillow entertainment on storm days.

well yes and no. I have it on my blog, which is in German and it took me ages to write it so right now I'm not really thinking about translating the ski trips since I'm still busy editing all the video. But since I am broke right now and can not go on another trip until may I may have some time during the next few weeks.

you can see all three ak parts and the other trips there. some pics are in the AK thread here on TGR.
if you guys still want to go through my German nonsensical babble and pics:

So, I've been skiing a bit bit during the last few months. Here is what I've been doing during those 70 days....
edit: I took the video offline because it does not play properly.... I'll put up a working version soon.
