Saw a guy going about 5mph on a flat groomer eat shit and double eject out of his snowblades. He then sat on the ground and put them back on like this:

Back when I first started skiing in college, I had a buddy who got the OG Dukes, and would put em in walk mode whenever there was a bootpack or uphill skate... he would then herringbone/sidestep with them. His review was that they were not that helpful for hiking, and not worth the extra money, but pretty fun to tele on.

    We didn't know about skins....

No, I have no illusions about being faultless, but being a snob is not one of my stronger suits.
Particularly in the case of ski or Crustal relative newbs whom I have befriended over the years.

Anyway, I have skinned that bootpack a few times before it got packed out and I can imagine that splitting the board for a traverse that made Alta regulars whimper might be worthy. Who knows?

Anyway, carry on, tally ho, excelsior and blow out the twinkies.

That traverse back to the base area sucks. I usually just ride out to E lot and either catch the shuttle or stick out my thumb - works a lot better if you've got a beer to offer in exchange for a ride back up (or in the event nobody comes, at least you've got a cold one to sip on while you slog up the road).

I've contemplated split-skiing the High T @ Alpy, but I think without locked-down heels I'd be too gripped to go above the waterfall

One of our hosts at WAH kept his split board in ski mode one trip. Up and down, he made tele and alpine turns. Probably helped that it was perfect snow the whole trip.

    https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/snob .

A person with an exaggerated respect for high social position or wealth who seeks to associate with social superiors and looks down on those regarded as socially inferior.

But Superior is across the street from Alta.

In any case what's a person who believes that their taste is different from others?

I'm not a huDge proponent of the well ordered universe and as such, really have a difficult time looking down on other people since up and down are not well defined in my book. I understand how easy it is to misconstrue that view.

Not ski/snowboard related but certainly a gaper (or just plain bonehead move). "Say, man, what happened to the weed I put in the cooler??"

My wife bought a lap top bag at the Truckee thrift and gave it to me as a xmas present. There was someone's MJ recommendation in it. Which is how I know my wife buy's my xmas presents at the thrift.

Re cooler: we had a mud turtle named bob. my son kept it in a glass terrarium in his upstairs bedroom. bob escaped. a search was fruitless. A year later my wife gets a cooler from the basement, two floors down, and takes it to Subway to get some sandwiches for a large picnic. Guy at Subway asks her what she wants him to do with the turtle.

Maybe he's the smart one? Other than his socked cat technique, I mean.

Pewwww!! God's speed bob. My wife grew up in Arkansas and they were always fishing baby turtles out of the pool in the back yard. Cute little buggers. p.s. Clean those damn coolers before hauling food! haha
