    E Bay Question?

So when you purchase something on e-bay how long does the person have to ship it to you?

I bought something for about $250.00 Oct 14th and have yet to see a tracking number. I e-mailed the guy yesterday and he said he would ship it then and get me the tracking number yesterday.

I don't have a # yet. How long do I wait? Should I have to keep e-mailing the guy to get the shi sent?

You can file a claim, or atleast get ebay involved after 10 days.

The shipper should ship in a reasonable amount of time (<week IMHO)

There's absolutely no reason a shipper should have to provide a tracking number unless he said he would before you bid.

I didn't know that...I guess people just do it to be courteous.

I thought you had to wait 30 days. Maybe things have changed of late. Either way, if you paid with PayPal and the guy does not ship, you can get your money back pretty easily.

I actually did Don's job, and looked it up before I posted.

If they do not state in the auction specifics (we ship 1 time a week, order will not be shipped until date x due to being out of town, or other reasonable explanation) then you have been more than patient and it should be on the way. The tracking number (if UPS or FedEx) is an easy way to say they have done their job and completed their end of the deal. USPS standard first class may not have any tracking (unless they send priority or delivery confirmation.)

If they stated they have or are in the process of shipping, then I'd give them the benefit, if they do not come through with a "it is shipped message" then I'd start the process to get Ebay or Paypal if used involved.
