    Ohio Leaf Peeping TR

It's supposed to rain the rest of this week, and get super windy, so I figured I needed to get in a good color ride today before it all goes to crap. Got out to the local loop for a long lunch today, 12 miles (2 loops) and Ohio at its leafy best. This time of year is when this place at least temporarily makes up for being, well...Ohio.

Sorry, no spiffy music video link, but I think I was listening to some Morcheeba on my way out there.

The trail system. This is 'phase 2'...a second more advanced 6-mile loop. There is another 'phase 1' a few miles away, again 6 miles but basically not as many bridges and log rolls.

Storms rolling in (the same ones, in fact, that dumped all the pow I skied in Utah on Friday) but I had a couple hours of dry weather before they hit.

A new sick-gnar teeter that was built this summer:

But hey, I'm not gonna complain...

Alum Creek has a LOT of bridges.

    ...even some skinny-ish ones:

It's mostly hardwood forest but there are a few coniferous sections of trail with nice pine needle loam.

this is the longest ladder on the trail...probably 50 feet long and 7-feet high at its highest. It's not hard, but it's just long and curvy enough to get into your head sometimes and freak you out.

Some more happy leaves to finish it off...

I was really hoping to next weekend for the closing but gotta head to TX for my mom's 60th bday...

If the weather holds out though I could probably be convinced to ride somewhere out near you 11/3-4 or so? I hear good things about Kennerdell?

dig the colors. CO has pretty leaves, but has nothing on the Eastern folks with the reds/oranges/etc...

that reminds me of my years of college in Ohio (Miami U.)

Huston State Park was our go-to ride
Let me lock in the system at Warp 2
Push it on into systematic overdrive
    You know what to do
