    I had these guys screaming in my helmet all weekend and couldn't have picked better tunes for some early season laps. Great tunes for your ski playlists!

    They're on Letterman tonight.

    I really need to see these guys live. I see they're in Vegas with Big Boi. Now THAT could be an amazing show!

    They're still a great act (saw them at the 2800-seat Fox in Oakland a little while back) but it's just not the same old-fashioned ass kicking they delivered when performing in the 500-to-800 capacity venues. And they had a backing band! What the crap is that?

    On the plus side, I like Brothers a whole lot better than Modern Times, kinda feels like they're back on track.

    Which one? They have several:

    * The Big Come Up (2002)
    * Thickfreakness (2003)
    * Rubber Factory (2004)
    * Magic Potion (2006)
    * Attack & Release (2008)
    * Brothers (2010)

    Personally I like Thickfreakness best, but they're all good.

    Tipp, you missed my personal favorite, Chulahoma (2005), which is a Junior Kimbrough tribute album.

    Absolutely amazing, the endorsement at the end by Junior's wife says it all.

    edit: technically, I guess it's an EP.

    Lucky enough to see them play again at a sold out Rose Garden last night. Good to see they still rock just as hard as ever. Dan's a fucking god on guitar.

    They blew the doors off the maverik center in SLC last week. Lots from from el camino and brothers, but a solid sampling from thickfreakness, magic potion, attack and release, et al. Hell of a show, Dan and Pat are heading north now for the canadian mags - go forth and blow your ear drums out.

    Can't fucking figure out why the hell these guys have obsessed me lately. They have a key to something awfully simple and real. Just today I went back to Curtis Mayfield's soundtrack to Superfly. I think I found the Motherlode. Freddie's Dead, indeed. But, still, they hit the spot, if you know what I mean.

    Good stuff here. I acquired this split up as mp3s from a friend. Nice.
