    sunrise on Monarch

Coming down, I damn near collided with a very large brown bear. We were both pretty spooked.

Waiting for brake pads, so I borrowed this:

That bag is insulated, holds an 18-pack, and was very useful today. We hauled a bunch of shit to the top of mt sentinel and had a bbq:

Unfortunately I didn't get a shot of the badger I almost ran over on the way down. If a rock on the side of the trail starts moving and snarling at you aggressively, my advice is to keep pedaling.

new area for me with smmokan leading the way. fun trails. need to go back, learn my way around a bit better and be mindful of the slippery dirt around the sinkholes...

    Sickness!

Rode the DH trails at Grand Targhee this weekend; long runs with lots of loose dust and rocks. Purdy, though!

Rode up and down the new Big Mountain trail at Snowbird. (Pictures are Lynx on her way up) That was an ass kicker of a climb and I loved it!
Despite my preference of less jagged rocks and some really stupid switchbacks, you can't beat a 3,000 foot climb and decent in what is basically our backyard. It's just so close to home I could see doing this a lot in the early mornings. (downhill only after 11am) And, you just cannot beat these views.

    Super fun!

Hell yeah! Is this just an out-and-back trail or a loop? How's the DH? Is it all bermy and flowy like a resort DH trail should be? I guess I can check the website.

Flying the Bluehouse colors in Western Canada! Let me know if you want some rad skis!!

Are you only able to mess with controls with your left hand?

I've got some shimano brake levers of that era that I'm not going to use. You want another lefty? Running the right lever upside down like that makes it prone to get any air in the reservoir into the brake line. I'm not sure how they'd mesh together as far as mounting but it looks like you've got a system going with them already offset a good bit from each other.

this thread has been both killing me and inspiring me as i've been on the sidelines with tendinitis. last night was my first *real* ride of the year. we managed to dodge a thunderstorm, stayed dry and the skies cleared when we got to the top. we put on some Europe '72 on the way home and then drank home-brewed IPA. perfect.

We heard you in our twilight caves, one hundred fathom deep below, for notes of joy can pierce the waves, that drown each sound of war and woe.
