St George got a new little trail zone. The main trail is called Kentucky Lucky Chicken. It's short but really chunky and fun, good both directions but probably best clockwise. There's also a couple of jump lines sort-of-but-not-very-well hidden in there too, pretty long and lots of jumps.

^^^ Nice, I saw KLC on trailforks before we passed through last time. Ended up checking out something else, Babylon to Purgatory instead. That was a pretty fun one with one of the longer continuous descents I've done in the area.
A few from last week's ride, playing in the rocks:
Water flowing in Socal is always a welcome thing
Well, almost always. Makes the rides a bit spicy at times, though

Sooo close. Two days before he hadn't even rolled this one yet. He tried so hard too, after 20+ attempts and soaking in sweat I made him call it a night. Seriously prideworthy determination.

Tried fat biking a few times lately
It's not bad. One of the golf courses groomed some trails and keeps the bar/restaurant open for everyone. Fairly flat, I'm not sure I would do that every day. We have some groomed fatbike trails outside of town that might be a little more interesting to ride. Been raining all weekend so I'm not sure how they're riding now.Last edited by jamal; 02-11-2017 at 04:19 PM.

evdog made the trip east to Phoenix this past weekend. We shuttled the Black Canyon Trail north to south from Orme rd to Emery Henderson trailhead, 75 miles-o-fun.
Full ride report is here: BCT: Orme to EH
Here, Evan nails a tough switchback with a view.

Noice.
I keep telling myself I should just drive town to utah for a few days in the winter or when there's wildfire smoke choking the valley.

BCT with Schillingsworth a couple weekends ago.
I got rained out on Saturday, then rode Palm springs on Sunday. 2/3 days riding wasn't bad when San diego was getting pummeled by rain all weekend

I don't post here often anymore but you bet my love of biking still runs strong, especially now that Sam is getting bigger. At seven I didn't think we'd be as far along riding with him as we are so I'm STOKED! I'd rather ride than ski any day now
Riding trails we love close to home and riding and camping in the desert where we also love.
The kid is killing it.

Breached the Orange Curtain today for a ride in the Santa Anas, Trabuco to Bell Ridge
Ride starts with a 5 mile climb up Trabuco Creek Rd then 2500ft up Trabuco trail.
Climb is steep enough that the scrabbly surface is hard to climb. We HAB'd a number of sections
The view half way up
Bell Ridge Trail follows undulations of the ridge regardless how steep. Results in about 10 hike a bikes up steep pitches
It was a bit buggy out. Flies are out for sure, time to start packing the head net
Bell Ridge in all its glory
Steep HABs lead to steep descents
Riding through a burn area from last year
Ended with a frustratingly steep and rutten descent down Dingdong back to the road. Golf balls over ball bearings over hardpack with a rut down the middle of the steep ass trail is not my forte, so I walked some of it!
Good day out, definitely a beat down.

79 degrees and sunny and windy in SLC yesterday.
If we aren't skiing, we might as well ride.
