South Lake Tahoe house, few spots left, $1100 singles $1700 couples
EDIT 10/18 ... Found a house in Tahoe Keys on the waterfront that we're finally going forward with. Signing paper work this week. There are a few spots left that people are interested in but haven't put money down on. We're having a meet and greet Saturday afternoon 10/20 in San Francisco to hopefully finalize the last few spots. If there is a lot of interest, the owner has another smaller house down the block that's good for 6-8 people, she might give us a deal for renting out so much volume too.

^ Update,
I originally posted about a house on Ski Run and Saddle. Apparently that location is still a likely choice but the house in question doesn't have as many amenities as I originally thought.
An option to get a house in Kirkwood has presented itself too.
At this point - the group is forming for sure, but the particular house location and details have yet to be nailed down. I believe this will not affect the upfront cots: $150 deposit, $1100 for singles and $1700 for couples (total figures include deposit).
There is some investigation of an option for a house at Kirkwood instead of South Lake._______________________________________________

Schralp -
Did the Kirkwood House pan out? We are a couple, and perhaps a single. Really interested in a Kirkwood option.

If you get a Kirkwood house, I am definitely interested for my wife and I. Let me know.

Schralp is looking like he is going in a South Lake home.
Mife wife and I are looking for a Kirkwood house as well. There is a lease out there at Base Camp. But it is a 1BR, 6 people, and a dog. Not what we are hoping for. I think there is another one at Timblewood, but similar situation.
Currently we have no leads on any homes/locations available that does not already have someone involved. We would love to find the right set up, even if the cost runs a bit high. Let me know if you hear of anything, we might be looking for something similar.

I'm actually considering the 1 br condo previously mentioned, but am down with a cabin or larger condo if anyone here is seriously looking for something.

Yeah, KW is just hard. Not much development there, so the premium over SLT can be quite a bit of $$$ for equivalent amenities. I really would like a place there but it's been so tricky that my group has given up looking there.
I still need to post details on the new place. I'm pretty sure we're going to be in SLT. We had two potential houses we were going over last week before I headed out of town, so I'll check back up on the status there.
Cheers, it freaking snowed on Donner Pass last week and it looks like more is coming this week!!!!_______________________________________________

More tomorrow in fact. KW still has snow up in the higher elevations.
Looks like we are in an early season cycle - depending how it move... could see an opener soon.
2nd storm on the 12th and potential larger storm around the 16th. Then clearing out around the 20th for a week or two. If it all works out well, we could have a few feet on the ground by mid-month.
And with the last few storms, snow levels have dropped nice and low. And tomorrows storm looks warm - good for wet sloppy base building snow.

Okay, here's the deal.
Our group of 20 & 30 year olds is getting a house in Tahoe Keys on the waterfront. It's got some great amenities. The only downside is that snow removal on major storm days can take a while - the owner said it starts at 6 AM and takes anywhere from 1 to 6 hours (6 is for pretty bad days) to get clear to Tahoe Keys Blvd. If it's that bad I'd just as soon ski out to the road and catch the shuttle =)
The house is a 4-bed 2.5 bath, has beds for 10-11 and couches (might be a pullout I need to find out) and floor space (so we could get some inflatable mattresses too). We're planning our group to be 12-14 people.
Other amenity highlights:
Wifi
42 inch Plasma in master bedroom
Stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops in kitchen
2 decks overlooking Mt. Tallac and Keys waterfront
- one deck that has a hot tub on it and a boat dock
wet bar and dining room table
big screen TV with DVD and X box (you provide the games)
5 months 12/1 - 4/30
$1100 for singles, $1700 couples - total and upfront, including utilities.
$150 deposit due as soon as you want to secure a spot.
Rest of the money at the end of the month when we pay the landlord.
Guest fees will probably be $35 a night on weekends, maybe less on weekdays.
1) MEET AND GREET this Saturday afternoon (10/18) in San Francisco
2) PM me for more info about the house, meet n greet, etc.
There are a few spots left that people are interested in but haven't put money down on. Bumping because I'm in there with Schralph this winter and I think there is still a space left. PM him if you're still looking. It's going to be nice...we're not packing in too many members like a lot of houses are.

Spats, thanks for the bump ... I was up there this weekend and tried to get some firsthand beta to see things for myself but we didn't have the keys to the house yet.
I did walk around the place and see some very good things though, one in particular being that it looks like it is at least 3000 sq. ft. I didn't have a tape measure, but by pacing steps I guessed it was 70 feet long by 25 feet wide and 2 stories - looked huge!
Anyway, yeah there is still space left so please PM me if you're thinking about joining a group. Our house is free starting Friday 11/30, we're trying to finalize this week.Last edited by SchralphMacchio; 11-12-2007 at 12:57 AM.

This sounds great! I am defiantly interested, if it’s still available… I have only one question. It has the entire basic appliance? That would be terrific!
