    PTOWN REGULATORS,,,,,, GIT REAdy,,,,

    (headlamps anyone?)

SNOW LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO DROP TO NEAR THE ELEVATIONS OF THE
MAIN PASSES THROUGH THE SOUTH WASHINGTON AND NORTH AND CENTRAL
OREGON CASCADES LATE TONIGHT AND FRIDAY. MUCH COOLER AIR ASSOCIATED
WITH AN EARLY FALL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL SPREAD INTO THE REGION
LATE TONIGHT AND DURING THE DAY FRIDAY. SOME LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATION
IS POSSIBLE ESPECIALLY FRIDAY NEAR THE PASSES...WITH SEVERAL INCHES
POSSIBLE AT THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE CASCADES.

Anything this early is a flat out bonus. No jinxing occurs before the witching hour.

I'm leaving town this weekend, so it makes sense that snow is coming.

Damn, that also means more snow for the Cnd Rockies.

This is threatening to ruin some bike rides I have planned.

We call it persistent weak layer, depth hoar, or avy burial here in Utah.

I'm just commenting on Powder11's profound love of the antijinx button the past couple of seasons. Sure, early season depth hoar wrecks havoc in many places (especially Rockies)- but in the PNW & BC at the higher elevations where there is snow year round- and coastal snowpack- it's not quite as profound.

New snow at Big White this morning. How much was there at Whistler or any of the WA areas?

not sure, but it theres a noticable snowline at @ 1500 meters give or take. temps dropped quite a bit this afternoon. if we get some more precip over the weekend it should start to add up. the forecast looks downright depressing for people working outside or someone suffering from S.A.D.

Im still saving my antijinx mojo for those god damn red sox!
