    A little Limewire help?

OK, I'm getting pretty fucking frustrated with limewire.

I can't get a SINGLE FUCKING DOWNLOADABLE ITEM TO COME UP.

Not a one. I've searched everything from rolling stones to obscure indie bands, even britney spears and blink 182 won't return a single result. Nothing will. No junk bullshit results even come up, nada zip zilch zero nothing.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled it several times, tried turning off my firewall breifly, and nothing helps.

Anyone got any clues? Is this just LImewire finally succumbing to record companies and becomeing worthless? WTF is going on here?

    Ditch Limewire for Bittorrent.
I think that the human mind is unique among all other forms of life in that it can spontaneously create unique thoughts and provide unique behaviors. Instead of rewarding that uniqueness we, for some reason probably because of cultural and social necessity, we chastise unique behavior and reward conformity.

Yea, I've tried bittorrent before, didn't really see why it was so great. Just downloaded it again, and a search for "elliott smith" only turns up 19 songs. Sweet.

And i have the current version of limewire. WTF is going on here?

Download Azureus and use a torrent search site like isohunt. Why download one song at a time when you can get complete albums or discographies?

Try alternate spellings, like Elliot Smith...

eMule is a good aternative as well...individual songs, full albums, videos, etc.

I think my dad had the same problem back in NY. I don't remember how he fixed it, I'll ask again. Unfortunately for you, It may have just been that he downloaded the newer version.
PS. Limewire works decently for me. I just downloaded all three Monty Python movies. I don't think they mind, their stuff is all over youtube without any attempt to take it down.
Try updating your java plug-in. Or whatever it's called. Limewire needs that to work.
    No longer stuck.

Werd- lose limewire. So many better options - Torrents, Rapidshare, hell even IRC. Get yourself an invite to the right private tracker and you'll wonder what the fuck you were ever doing wasting time on limewire.

Where are you searching for your torrents? Try btjunkie.com, torrentspy.com, thepiratebay.org. Very rarely am I searching for something that doesn't turn up on one of these sites.

I just checked for Elliot Smith on btjunkie.com. It turned up several full albums as well as one torrent that included what looked like all of the albums he has out.

when you do get limewire working and if you want to keep it, use it to download limewire pro (instead of buying it).

Limewire works fine for me. What makes these other programs better? And which ones work on a Mac?
