Volkl to Head Conversion

Moving from Volkl to Head for my east coast skis.

Volk 5 Star 168cm = Head ??????? (Super Shape Something)

Volkl AC4 170cm = Head ???????

Yah think this is a good idea?

Definitely. Head feels much, much better on dez nuts than any Volkl ever could.

I've never skied either, but based on reviews at Teh Harbl's site, a.k.a. Ground Zero in the Cult of Head Skis...

Sounds like the Chip SS is more like the 6-star, and the iSS Magnum more like the 5-star.

Do I think it's a good idea to get skis that ridiculously short? If you are a chick or a homosexual, yes.

On second thought.... most chicks I know ski on something longer than that.

Shouldn't you know something about the ski's before you change "companies"? At least figure out the name of the ski you want info about

Why are you changing skis? Those are both pretty decent skis you listed for volkl? Jumping off the band wagon?

I didn't know you got to go through an interview process around here to get answers. Ok I will play.

Actually I like my Volkl skis. The AC4s are awesome. I just want to demo some new skis this winter Also a few friends of mine are in the market for some new boards. I keep hearing a lot of good things about Head skis. I only got 3 pairs of skis in my quiver and looking form more. My out west ski is older pair of Rossi B3s 95mm waist at 178 length with AT bindings. Hopefully that will satisfy all your questions.

Wow you got big skis

. You must be a real chic magnet.

My 178cm in line at the JH tram two years ago was longer than 90 percent of the skis in line and on the tram. So you got real long and wide skis for BC big deal. Try using those skis here on the east coast solid ice pack with 40+ pitch.

I would think the Volks are a bit stiffer and thus better for the east. Also the 2 Volkls you listed always get the highest reviews for carving on ice in their categories. Keep your B3s for Stowe & Jay!
