    slime self healing road tubes

didn't know if this has already been covered, but my search didn't turn up anything as to what I was looking for. i was wondering if anyone has used these tubes by smart tube(http://www.performancebike.com/shop/...gory_ID=5411)? i doubt theyre that good and i think they sound like they could be more of a mess than a help (If the slime doesnt work and gets all over your rim and the inside of your tire, have to clean it out). But I would like to hear that they do work well, as self healing tubes would be great.

I don't know about the road tubes so sorry if this screws your thread, but I used to use the Slime Tubes for mtb and they sucked... every time I had to pump one up the stem assembly came apart, then I'd have to put it back together, and be very gentle when pulling it apart.....

Maybe for commuting if you have a lot of goat heads and other sharp debris. That is the only case that I could think it may be worth the sacrifice. That has got to be the last spot on the bike I would want any more weight than necessary. Waste of energy for sure.

Had two flats in one day...goat heads.. one replacement tube with me and no patch kit...messed up my day. I got pissed and replaced both tubes with Slime Smart Tubes (not the Lite version). Valve seems good. It spit a little bit of slime up at first. But cleared it through and now only air in and out. So far so good... but yea.. can notice a slight weight increase in the last place you want any more weight. My concern is will it really hold up as it should... or will it fail.
I told you to tell them
you was in a sanitarium, not sanitation.
