My summer karma: Good or Bad??

Ok, its just getting old at this point in the summer. Lets recap.

Mammoth has a light winter, thus the riding begins early. Lots of fun to be had down at lower rock creek and then off to Sea Otter. Through all of this I'm having horrible lower back pains but I ride anyways.

Now I'm laid off. I knew it was coming so I planned to take 2-3 months off before getting married and moving. Finally I go see the back doc. He says no riding for 3-4 weeks and this is just as the trails in town are starting to melt out. So I take my time off and let the back heal up. It heals up and I get a few good weeks of riding in.

Now my shin is killing me after like 3-4 miles of riding. What worries me most is that it hurts where I broke it 3 years ago. Like right on the bone break. So I go see my ortho. He says its the begining of a stress fracture. Take 3-4 weeks off come see me in 2 weeks. I go see him at two weeks and he says go ride.

Well that would be great and all but now its time to go get married and such so I have other priorities to deal with. Get married, come back to Mammoth. Get one day in at the bike park. Drop bike off to get tuned. Mechanic says P.S. you need to send your rear shock in to fox. No biggie I move in 2 days anyway. I'll do it in Oregon.

Sent out my shock, took three weeks to get it back. That was two days ago. So yesterday was my first day back on my bike in a month. To recap, I've missed 10 out of 16 weeks of riding since Sea otter but now I'm back at it. I'm stoked. Our ride (my first in Bend) was absolutely killer. Could not have asked for more. Single track, flowing, some pumpy stuff, good berms, a small ladder section, some tech rocks and a tetter totter.

Well luckily I made it through the ride cause I sat on my bike this afternoon getting ready for another ride, and the freewheel went to shit on my first pedal. So now I'm down a few more days waiting for my new freewheel to come in. I have yet to decide if this is bad karma and I'm being punished for something or if someone is looking out for my well being and keeping me off the trail for my own safety and good. Either way its become frustrating as all hell. I JUST WANNA RIDE!!!!
If you open a second beer and don't miss a beat between sips, is that two beers or just one 24 ouncer? -Tye 1on

Stop going to the doctor! They don't like us to have all the fun, and are jelous cause they wasted 10 years in med school while we were out banging ski bunnies and skiing pow, so they always tell us to "don't go ride for 4 weeks" so that the trails aren't so crowded when they go out. In the winter they do the same thing before powder days. They probably put a chip in your leg when you broke it so now whenever you are having to much fun they push a button and voila! shin pain! It's a conspiracy I tell you! They are in it with the aliens. They are building landing sites for gay martians!

    Rant over, I'm bored
