150cm in 24h ! (Northern Alps) Update
The northern Alps in Austria and Germany get absolutely dumped on. !
the Zugspitze reports 150cm (60inches
*EU/US autotranslate*) fresh in the last 24h. And this is an "official" measurement and not one by the ski area.
and more is on the way... the same area may get another meter until friday.
Mittenwald (the only german Freeride area, located pretty near the Zugspitze... 20km) should go off on Friday.
I do not know what Anton got but Engelberg even further out west still got 50cm over night.
Now: Where do i get people to fill my car.

Sorry, can't help with the gas! I am in Geneve, CH and planning on skiing the Alpes Vaudoises and/or Les Portes du Soleil over the next 4 days.
The Alpes in Western Austria and Eastern Suisse have been getting an abondance of snow this season. It appears that every week they have another dump of the white stuff. Bonne voyage!

Re: 150cm in 24h ! (Northern Alps)
holy dumpage! i heard on the radio that they expected 1m (accumulated) around here for the week ending friday. i guess i might believe them now. les diablerets reported 40cm fresh overnight, which is where i'm headed tomorrow.Originally posted by subtle plague

Thanks for letting me know.
I'll target a Northern Alps resort, they apparently got some more snow right now.
Have fun!

and engelberg you can get via www.slf.ch .... if you remember the stats from days ago. because in the "zentralschweiz" report they only have the last 24h and actual snow height. so knowing that it started around 220/230cm and considering the stats of 342cm at 2140m in engelberg yesterday i do the math
statistics of official stations you can get via www.wetteronline.com/eurostdf.htm and then snodepths.(zugspitze for example) in most of the stations you can just click on development and then you can see the snow level for the last weeks etc.
And the eastern/northern part of switzerland has gotten waaay more than the west/south. But diablerrets should go off too. It's a war of the mind and we're armed to the teeth.
