Hubs- by order of engagement points
The hadley thread(s) got me thinking... am I missing any high engagement point hubs during my quest for a new SS rear disc wheel, cassette style?
Hadley: 108pt - swiss watch, relatively heavy?
King SS: 72 pt... the standard for all other hubs to be measured by (except for price)
Hope Pro2 SS: 48 pt... light, easily serviceable, lots of options, steel driveshell standard, reasonable price... a winner?
DT swiss 240 ss: light, how many points? centerlock rotors only.
American Classic: 36 pts? realibility issues?
I think I have convinced myself the Pro2's are the right balance of cost, weight, reliability, and engagement. Is there a magical SS cassette hub out there I am missing. Sure, I'll take the 72 pt King, if someone wants to cut me a sweet deal

I9 hubs have 120 engagement points.
Are the 108 pt Hadleys still available? I thought they stopped selling those.
DT swiss hubs have an interesting ratchet system. I don't know the engagement points, but they are quiet, work well, and seem to be durable with low maintenance.
Hope Pro II hubs seem like a very nice price to performance. I have a Pro II front hub that I like. But for rear hubs, I love King. Ring drive is a long term investment.

Track down an old stealth hub. Nothing else made with pawls comes close.
They use angular contact bearings. I thought I'd seen 'instant engagement' until I rode one.Besides the comet that killed the dinosaurs nothing has destroyed a species faster than entitled white people.-ajp

Profile Racing SS Hub.
I'll have to check the engagemnt points tonight on mine.
I have been running the DT Swiss 240 rear hub on my CX rig for a year now. No issues thus far.Last edited by Andy_B; 07-03-2007 at 12:45 PM.
Since then it's been a book you read in reverse, so you understand less as the pages turn.
The things you find on the net.

any idea on weight for the stealth hubs? look like you could tie them to someone's feet and take them for a swim Jersey style. cool stuff though!
