Utahs Largest Indoor Racetrack Opens

Utah's largest, most comprehensive indoor racetrack is set to open with an adrenaline-pumping weekend, June 28--30, which will include a two-for-one special, live music, a chance to race against two Olympic athletes, and a free barbecue. Winners Motorsports offers the fastest race karts in the state, reaching speeds up to 55 miles per hour on a 47,000 square-foot track area. The high-powered, suspension tuned race karts simulate a professional racing experience on an indoor Formula 1-type track. The facility, totaling 74,000 square-feet, also offers billiards, an arcade and flat-screen televisions.

Ted Ligety, 2006 Olympic Gold Medalist in Combined, Nikki Stone, 1998 Olympic Gold Medalist in Aerials, and Olympic Downhill Skier Steven Nyman, a competitor in the 2006 Torino Games, will race each other to create an exciting spectacle. At the end of each hour from 6 to 9 p.m., the Utah-based Olympic athletes will take on the fastest drivers. Any driver who beats them will win special prizes from Winners. Stone, Ligety and Nyman will be available for media interviews.

The Harley Davidson Utah Blaze Dancers will also be on hand to race the public and sign autographs.

"Novice and hard-core racers alike will have the thrilling opportunity to experience the power and control of our suspension- tuned race karts."

The grand opening two-for-one offer will be extended through Saturday, June 30.

Winners Motorsports offers a variety of options for racers. Drivers can simply Arrive and Drive and race against the clock and other drivers. Or, enter the ultimate individual race in the Grand Prix, competing in four races leading to a semi-final. Only the top racers will make it to the Grand Prix's grand finale.

Groups of eight to ten can feed their need for speed in the Team Sprint, qualifying for position prior to entering the main event. Looking for a challenge for the whole team? Enter your group in the Enduro race, for up to 25 minutes of individual race driving and the chance to create team strategies for winning. Karts and tracks can be adjusted for kids and beginners. Racers can experience the speed and control of Winners Motorsports for as little as $20, depending on the race and the number of laps they choose.

Even off the track, Winners is a hot location for parties, dates, a girls' night out, and family activities. Enjoy billiards and arcade games, visit the full- service race shop, or, relax and have a snack in front of a flat-screen TV.

i got an invite to go for free tomorrow... (media day to check out the facilities) - but I really have no reason to go, so the right thing to do is pass on it... geez that sucks big time.

Up to 55 MPH??? That sounds way too fun!!! Is it a road track or an oval? Any slick track?

I gotta get in on that before all the carts get thrashed!!!
